When Peter Obi talked about it, the opposition were castigating him......
Peter Obi, how is he any different when it comes to Nigerian corruption system, is he not part of the elites, all our elites are guilty of this, he's not in anyway different. Remember he was a governor, what did he do different? Is Anambra better than any other Nigerian states in terms of corruption? What mechanism did he put in place to checkmate excesses and corrupt practices.
Please let's join hands to fight our common evil, which almost all of us are guilty of in one way or the other.
Obi is probably lesser devil among ranks of devils

What about other refineries in the pipeline.
What will their creditors say when they hear such news. That perhaps there is no real market for their works.

Remember that already Nigeria cannot supply enough crude for Dangote thoughtless of other works in the pipeline so it will not make any sense to import crude only to export products.

There is far too much global competition for that. Remember the premise of onshore refining of Nigerian crude was local consumption not export.
A lot more people are investing into the oil sector as a matter of fact.

Nigeria is corruption personified. Any president not actively fighting corruption is either part of it or just playing.

Everything begins to make sense now, some very powerful individual are behind the bloated figure for self gains at the expense of Nigerians. Go to the north, U will see hundreds of fuel tanker trucks standing redundant by the road side, these are trucks that are being used by these crooked businessmen to smuggle fuel to neighbouring countries like Niger, Chad etc. They could no longer be in business due to the subsidy removal. No wonder people from Niger & Chad were protesting in their country when subsidy was removed in Nigeria. All these wicked men will not go unpunished by God.
Tinubu has put an end to the generational subsidy fraud, unfortunately the masses are nearing the pains. But there is no going back

This type of corruption, it is certain all past president since subsidy started are aware of it. How I wish Jonathan had removed the subsidy since 2011.
That's why they rested Jonathan by all means. They formed a coalition to unseat him and ended up doing the unimaginable.

The international community is complicit. Will the international agencies, international press tell us they don't know the truth? Even the Agbado Lagos mainstream media knows but you won't hear pim.

You guys have forgotten that the excess or the inflated fuel is the one those oil thieves sells illegally to Niger, Chad, Benin Republic, Cameroon etc with the collaboration of our Custom, Army officers etc....... while half of that inflated product never landed on Nigeria territorial water .... that's the quantity they always arrange fake documents for cover up, they arrange fake Bill of lading and manifest to be given to CBN for subsidy .....even CBN, NPA, NIMASA, Nigeria Navy, Police etc.....with the supervision of their big boss.....NNPCL .....that's their regular trade since the inception of this subsidy.....They have collected Trillions of Naira illegally from the government for years. So much dirty deals ongoing in Nigeria Oil Sector.....They are all thieves.....

See, Nigeria is a corruption seen, except you rate evil based on interest or selection otherwise you will agree with me that CORRUPTION is breed from kindergarten to higher level, from local councils to federal level and unfortunately it cut across all regions and religion.
NO SINGLE PRESENT NIGERIAN ELITES IS EXCEPTED OF THIS.

"On what have I done", I tried to do right always basically because of my faith and conviction although, I can't deny failing my maker on several occasions.

Your sitting President.
How is that possible when the sitting president was the one who removed the subsidy? How can he inflate consumption rate at the same time?

With this news their investments at this point are no more than speculative if indeed the market is not really there.

If Nigeria has no crude to give them and Nigerian demand is really not as much as previously speculated then what.

The only hope will be for an improved economy which will mean higher demand but creditors are unlikely to gamble on that.
Re: Corruption Behind Inflated Petrol Consumption Figures – Dangote by LCling: 9:42am On Jul 15, 2025
The secret is the Nigerian PPA local content law with dangote is you won't export % if local demand and market isn't meet... So for Dangote nobody must play with real local market figures because this will reduce his export % which is his real FX and profit... Because he is even selling lower benchmark to NGN based on BBP, crude swap, national security and etc agreed ...

I have maintained this for ages that Nigeria doesn consume more than 15 million litres a day , this was what Tinubu was supposed to solve instead of shouting that subsidy is too much , if you fix daily consume you will see that Nigerian can easily afford any fue subsidy , I have a technique that can on earth true daily consumption figures
Please share. You'll never know who is reading. Maybe your idea can save that sector.

and you believe this man? he is trying to kill the new refineries and maintain monopoly.

are you telling me the ministry of petroleum allow for this bloated figures for many years?
then you only need 1 refinery to meet daily consumption. the PH refinery is enough

Wow...just wow.

See what corruption has cost this country.
Even proper, righteous enterprises are not spared from its insidious fallout.

I hope this corrupt distortion of data was not the premise of Dangote going all out for a 650kbpd refinery.

That will be an overkill and until he can get other markets, perhaps a waste of resources.

Now of what effect is the real data on other investments in the pipeline by other enterprises....

PS. Are we sure we are actually up to 200 million citizens.
Re: Corruption Behind Inflated Petrol Consumption Figures – Dangote by frog12: 10:15am On Jul 15, 2025
so all ministers of petroleum know this for years and no act??

then all of them are criminals that should be arrested

Instead of government to check the corruption in subsidy , it's stop subsidy and fix exaubitant price on d products.

The corruption still continue as usual in d revenue remiting by NNPC.

The only difference now is that the people are in extreme poverty.

So is it the government you believe. A government that doesn't have solid population data, oil production and export data and even disputed economic performance data.

You only need to understand the relationship between energy consumption and development or economic growth.

The better your economy the higher your consumption generally so it is counterintuitive to imagine an economy declining from about 2014 till date to have a constant or even increasing energy consumption over that time period.

Most folks I know are consuming a lot less petroleum products than they did a few years ago and until the economy, revenues and disposable incomes improve I don't see that changing.

Who did not talk about it,you thought subsidy matter started in 3023.......subsidy has always been a hot issue for every president since gowon but became a full grown monster in the 2ks under obj then hydra under GEJ and was ready to kill us all not for Tinubu's meticulous policy to cut it at its root .....so what has obi said that others didn't say.
You didn't understand his point.

Only PO talks about our daily fuel consumption which he kept emphasized on before removing fuel subsidy completely.

That's why many who castigated PO that he also promised to remove subsidy never listen to him or just deliberately misinterpreted his point.

In fact, PO keeps using a country as example by asking how can Nigeria be consuming fuel more than them?

Here is how PO said he will solve the issue of fuel.

1. Get the accurate/minimal daily consumption by this, over bloating figures and excessive subsidy payment can be curbed.
2. Stealing of crude oil which has greatly reduced our daily output barrel per day (with the famous statement: Government are the ones stealing our oil).
3. If the two above can be put in place. Subsidy removal will be in phases as the money saved from over figure and increase in crude output will be channeled to support LOCAL/MODULAR refineries which in turn will create a diversify oil market rather than a monopoly market like what will have now.

So only PO came up with something like no other aspirants in 2023.

The most funny thing is, as Dangote refinery is up, no one talks about MODULAR REFINERIES any more which is indirectly giving ONLY DANGOTE the edge.

How many vehicles and power generating set do we have in Nigeria to gulp over 40 million liters daily?

This is over bloated volume. Our National Statistics body are not doing enough.
