What Is The Way Forward? by IyaTola(op): 10:20am On Jul 14, 2025
Good morning all,

As we go about our duties today let's ponder about this and ask ourselves one Question
WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD.

Last night on our way to see the Chelsea vs PSG game I got talking with my brother and we ask ourselves " How long will it take an average Nigerian to achieve or live that life he/she deserves, with this present economy, how long will he/she have to work, save, get married and plan his or her lives, how long will it take you to save to buy even the least cars Corolla? Which is around 4m now, an average Nigerian who earns below or between 300k in Lagos for example and works Monday to Friday with a monthly TP of say 90-100k, buys food stuffs at home, with no wife nor kids yet, pay utilities bills, and doesn't live a careless life by spending restlessly, assist parents and siblings, now you will realize that he or she will have nothing at the end of the month to save and this guy is in his 30.

Now what is the way forward?
Is the government fault
His fault
Economy fault
His parents fault
Village people

If you're to give advice to a younger one what will it be.

Drop your take and comment and do have a nice day

My bro this your post really hit me hard

Like a man in his 30s, salary of 300k

See that Car and Wife I have never for one day reason it before talk less of setting up a family 😔😔

It's the government fault let's be sincere with ourselves

Many of us are not lazy, I have friends that do leave home around 5:30am to work and returned home 9Pm but that doesn't make them meet up 300k salary is nothing again

The reality in Nigeria today is very difficult for youths who have a 9-5 mindset.
Unless you are lucky to work in establishments with good pay that rewards excellence with rapid promotion and commensurate benefits, you will struggle badly.

The present regime has removed most if not all subsidies Nigerians enjoyed in the past to make life easier because it was no longer sustainable.

Hence, the reality is Nigerians have to pay the real price for most services and goods that government hitherto subsided making your purchasing power drastically reduced.
As a young guy, you need to understand there's a different approach to making money now and starting a family as approach of 10-20 years ago won't help you much.

The probability of relying in the 9-5 system to fund a comfortable lifestyle and start a family has been severely reduced unless you are in very specific and highly lucrative sectors which are extremely competitive.
The social media space is now the goldmine, from tiktok, ig, youtube etc for youths to reach audiences to sell all sorts and offer all kinds of services to earn enough to afford the lifestyles of thier dreams.

Master these areas and see your income rise drastically in a short time to afford you all you mentioned in you write-up. Goodluck
