You’re absolutely on point with that take, honestly. Smurfs isn’t sniffing $400 million, let alone $500 million. 😂 That kind of number feels like pure delusion right now. The rollout is ghostly quiet — for a theatrical release dropping July 18, it’s almost unsettling. No major promo beats, barely any Twitter discourse, even among the usual animation crowd. And yeah, it’s like they’re putting all their chips on Rihanna showing up once or twice to sing and post an Instagram story. Which... girl hasn’t dropped an album in years, so expecting her to drive the whole campaign feels unserious. That’s not 2012 energy anymore. Plus, your $250 million estimate is fair. If it even touches that, I’d call it a W, considering how little heat there is around it right now. Too many bigger titles out this summer, and families have options. abduleez1: |

Illusioneffect:This was what I literally told him a month ago. Funny thing is, I've been following the franchise from the first film and kinda liked it till it fell off and then I moved onto the TROLLS universe. Imagine a film releasing in a week time and I haven't even heard or seen anything about marketing. I've even forgotten it's releasing in July and thought it was in August. It's his posts trolling Superman that made me remember we bantered about SMURFS. I had to check it's release date before knowing it's coming out this month. The site where I see all the release dates for Hollywood movies for the year— I was doubting the date I saw on the site, cos I couldn't believe the marketing. I had to use Google and Wikipedia to confirm the date, cos I felt I was dreaming. 😅😅 That film is going to be an EPIC Flop. I've never been ever so sure about a film failing than this one. 😂😂 That $250mn gross is even looking like a very generous estimate. Especially when the last film didn't hit $200mn. My revised estimate for this is now $150-180mn. ![]()

Illusioneffect:So why would a non-rich, non-politician guy like you vote for Trump? The only reason would be because you sold your soul and reasoning to MAGA ideology. MAGA ideology. 1. Welfare for poor people is bad. Tax cuts for billionaires and mega corporations are good. 2. Trump is a good guy. The same Trump that is a serial cheater, liar, tax evader and ruthless businessman. 3. Trump is defending the boarder. Yet, Obama deported more illegal immigrants. |

SUPERMAN: MY HONEST REVIEW I saw Superman yesterday and thought it was a good movie. Action-packed, emotional, with solid characters and great visuals. It’s a solid movie overall, but not a perfect one. It has its strengths and weaknesses—but at the end of the day, the pros outweigh the cons. --- THE PROS Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor A fantastic villain. He brought so much energy to this movie. He played Lex in a way that radiates envy, hatred, and disdain for Superman. He’s menacing and genuinely scary. This version of Lex Luthor is a stone-cold killer—a real hater. His entire purpose is to take down Superman. I love that the movie doesn’t try to make us feel sympathy for Lex or justify why he’s evil. In this movie, Lex is evil because that’s just who he is. Full stop. No tragic backstory or emotional trigger. Being evil is simply in his nature. He spends the entire movie rage-baiting Superman, and until the third act, he has the upper hand. This is by far the best Lex Luthor I’ve ever seen—strong, brilliant, and terrifying. The movie shows that even though Superman is powerful, Lex can humble him with his intelligence. There’s a great line where Lex gloats and says, “Brain beats brawn.” It hits hard. The way Lex was written and used made me like the character even more. Nicholas Hoult is perfectly cast—he’s the best actor in this movie. He absolutely killed it. No complaints. --- David Corenswet as Superman Charming and charismatic. David is a phenomenal Superman. This is not a dark or brooding version—this Superman wants to be Superman. David radiates the hope and optimism the character is known for. He’s heroic and also very human. Before seeing this movie, I heard someone say Zack Snyder made SUPERman and James Gunn made superMAN. David Corenswet brings so much energy to the role that it makes that statement true. He completely owns it. I’m glad his Superman doesn’t carry the gloom and stoicism that Henry Cavill’s version had. He genuinely sees himself not as an alien, but as part of the human race. He treats Metropolis like home and carries his duties like a good-natured boy scout. James Gunn captures Superman’s humility and humanity. He’s not treated like a god but like a normal, everyday hero. --- Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane A very strong and beautiful female character. What I like most about this Lois Lane is that she’s not a damsel in distress. She actually helps Superman take down Lex Luthor. She’s intelligent, charming, and has amazing chemistry with David. That chemistry is one of the most important things in a Superman movie, and it works perfectly here. Lois isn’t just a background character—she plays just as major a role as Superman. She’s well-written, courageous, and gets things done. Even among people with superpowers, she still stands out and contributes in meaningful ways. --- THE JUSTICE GANG I originally thought they were only in the movie to show that this world has other superheroes. I didn’t expect them to do anything important. But by the end, I liked them way more than I expected. Mr. Terrific was my favorite. He’s basically the Batman of the group—no superpowers, but super smart and tech-savvy. Guy Gardner blew my expectations. I didn’t expect much from him, but he brought great humor to the movie. His scenes were the funniest. Nathan Fillion was born to play this role. Hawkgirl was my least favorite. She didn’t really stand out, except for one scene where she killed someone by dropping them from the sky. Overall, though, the Justice Gang were an essential part of the movie. --- THE VISUALS Top notch. Not mind-blowing like Man of Steel or Snyder’s DC movies, but still really good. I’d say the visuals are on par with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and in some scenes, even better. The CGI is 99% great. The bright, colorful cinematography fits the tone of this movie perfectly. --- ACTION-PACKED Superman is an action sci-fi movie, and the action is really good—especially in the third act. There’s a scene where Superman lasers all of Lex’s henchmen while spinning at high speed. It’s in the trailer, but seeing it on the big screen blew my mind. The action isn’t like Man of Steel, where cities are leveled and civilian casualties are everywhere. David’s Superman is much more careful—he protects civilians and tries to limit the damage around him. Mr. Terrific also has an incredible action scene that I enjoyed a lot. James Gunn knows how to do action. If you’ve seen his other movies, you’ll know what to expect—and he delivers. --- CHEMISTRY BETWEEN CLARK AND LOIS One of the most important things in a Superman movie is the chemistry between Clark and Lois. Without it, the whole thing feels flat. Thankfully, James Gunn nailed this. The two leads aren’t just great in their roles—they have real, believable chemistry. It makes a huge difference. --- THE CONS PACING The pacing is a bit off—especially in the first half. There’s a lot going on: heavy world-building, tons of new characters, and lots of exposition. It can be overwhelming if you're not used to comic book movies. The first hour moves too fast. The story needed more time to breathe. But once the movie hits the second hour, the pacing improves and everything starts to flow better. --- NOT ENOUGH KENTS I thought Pa Kent and Ma Kent were underused. There’s a heartfelt scene where Pa Kent talks to Clark, and it was arguably the best part of the movie—but it was too short. I wish we spent more time with them. Their scenes were beautiful and emotional, and they deserved more screen time. --- RUNTIME TOO SHORT The movie is 130 minutes long, and honestly, I think that’s too short. It feels like James Gunn trimmed it for the sake of making it more rewatchable. But if the movie had 15 more minutes, that pacing issue I mentioned earlier probably wouldn’t exist. It’s a very entertaining movie, but it left me wanting more. --- I can’t wait to see the next DCU project. James Gunn is building something special here, and I think it has serious potential. --- FINAL RATING: 8/10

Palehair:Bro really pulled out receipts like he’s writing a thesis—just to sound even dumber than I thought. If there’s anyone worth glazing, it’s literally billionaires. Y’all out here hyping musicians and influencers while I’m focused on the people actually moving markets. Meanwhile, everything you’ve been stalking and screenshotting—what exactly have I gotten wrong? Tesla stock dipped this year, sure, but I’m still up an extra $52K because I bought in before Trump won—wouldn’t have happened otherwise. Bitcoin just hit $120K this week, highest in history, because BlackRock and the U.S. keep lifting crypto restrictions while your fave politicians were trying to kill it. That’s another $125K easy in my acct😭 since last year. Iran’s currency? In a deeper mud. Trump’s not perfect and he hasn't even done half of what he said he'd do—man’s shady as hell, no cap - But I’m not voting feelings only asinine people do. I’m voting numbers. And my numbers are loud. |

BlackManta:Did I mention that the score was really good. It's no Hans Zimmer but it's better than I expected. Also Krypto was great in this movie. Almost every character gets a moment to shine.

Man of Steel getting cooked on Twitter. There is a clip of him jumping over a tanker which crashes into a parking lot and explodes while he aura farms... While compared to a clip of the new Superman movie risking his life to save a building of people |

I really didn’t need to see this nonsense on my YouTube this fine afternoon. Can’t he just analyze his fight patterns and let the AI take control while he watches? How many computers and operators do you actually need to control your goon in a fight? Someone actually thought Lex Luthor would look cool mentioning bra sizes in a fight.🤦🏾♂️ https://youtube.com/shorts/H4dnDvJhABU?si=AJNSdN1k1PM9afws |

SOZINN:lol in a twisted funny irony, if i didn't see Lex Luthor or Superman in that clip, my muscle memory will instantly jolt me to think that this was infact a[i]MCU flick/i] (which you love so much btw) ... same exact template...same exact execution 😬😩. I mean, this is basically what Ironman does with Jarvis, in battle mode. No?. Now it's, no gain saying, it's probably so, because, one of the Chief architect of the MCU also made this movie.and here in lies the problem...If you as an MCU fanatic, say you suddenly have a bone to pick with this formula, then you might as well, be admitting you hate the MCU..😩 because this overly comedic superhero thingy is what the MCU ate good with over the years tbh. |
