11. Remember that 90% of the 112 were eliminated. Hence by the time we add 7 men's 7 children with 7 wife's 7 children. We get 98, we add the seven men and 7 wife's to get 112. Subtract 90% to get 11. |

Amotolongbo:Number of men: 7 Number of wives: 7 (assuming each man has 1 wife) Number of children: 7 couples * 7 children/couple = 49 Total people: 7 (men) + 7 (wives) + 49 (children) = 63 The problem states: "7 men have 7 wives." If it meant each man has 7 wives, it would likely say "Each of the 7 men has 7 wives," leading to 49 wives. But the phrasing is "7 men have 7 wives," which can be read collectively as the group of 7 men has a total of 7 wives, implying 1 wife per man. "Each man and each wife have 7 children." If each man has 1 wife, then this can mean that each marital pair (man + wife) has 7 children. It's a bit ambiguous whether it's per individual or per pair, but per pair makes more sense to avoid double-counting. Thus, 63 seems correct. |

Having take a critical look at the problem, I understand it is not a mathematical question, rather a logical question which does not require equations or whatsoever. The total number of people in there is 16 Here is the breakdown : A Man and his Wife had 7 Boys : equations ..1 The Boys grew up to become Men, and they have a Wife each. equation .... 2 In equation 1 we have A man, his Wife and 7 Children which equals 9 people. In equation 2 We have 7 Wife for each children in equation 1 Which equals 7 people. Therefore , 9 people + 7 people = 16 people. |

obembet:* 1 man + 7 wives = 8 people total (adult par household) *** 8 people x 7 families = 56 total adult * 7 children x 7 wives = 49 (children par household) *** 49 x 7 = 343 total children Answer: 56 + 343 = 399 people total. |

Let's break it down step by step: Given: 7 men Each man has 7 wives → Total wives = 7 × 7 = 49 wives Each wife has 7 children → Total children = 49 × 7 = 343 children Now, add everyone together: Men = 7 Wives = 49 Children = 343 Total number of people: 7 + 49 + 343 = 399 7+49+343= 399 ✅ Final Answer: 399 people. |

Amotolongbo:You are the one missing the interpretation. Each man and each wife means each couple. The Correct answer is 63. Let me interpret the question for you: Firstly. 7 men have 7 wives. It means each man has one wife because it didn't say 7 men has 7 wives each. Secondly, Each man and each wife have 7 children. It means each couple has 7 children. If you separate the man from the wife and give them 7 children each, the question wife be who is the Father of the 7 children of the wife and who is the mother of the 7 children of the man? Therefore, it suffice to say that each man and wife means each couple since the wife can not be alien from the man and vice versa. The Calculation: 7 men + 7 wives = 14 parents 7 × 7 = 49 children TOTAL = 14 + 49 ANSWER = 63 THANKS. |
