Didn't he enjoy the paraphernalia and splendour of the throne? If you don't want to observe the tradition or be buried in traditional way, then opt for becoming a cleric instead of an Oba.

What’s the meaning of all these oppression!

Traditions and culture being erased!

He ascended the throne through tradition and same way he is meant to depart.

What are Muslim clerics doing there? Was the late king a saint to tradition?
he had already stated he should be burry according to his religion believes, he make sure that the motion was signed into law before he died.

Possibly he had paid his due when he was alive or he doesn't belong to them. If not, no one can stop them from performing their traditions.

They don't need any permission from anyone, they'll have their way by force once the deceased belong to them.
Lol. You watch too much African Magic.

On a very lighter note!

I believe an Oba is a custodian of tradition of the land🤔

Can a man serve two masters 🤔

Some persons in Nigeria are just confused 🤔

Why choose to be a king & you don't want to keep & obey the tradition🤔

We now have mosque & churche inside palace, isn't this a CONTRADICTION & CONFUSION

Did he not know the traditions before he accepted to be King?

If you know you're devoted to your religion, then don't bother vying for the position of a traditional ruler.

Our tradition and culture has slided down and it's unfortunate.

They would have their way where soldiers were?
Even if they were e cladded with JuJu, soldiers would have humbled them if they tried any misbehaviour.

Truthfulness should always reflect us in everything.
You become knowing fully well it's a traditional thing and after you become king you want to eat your cake and still have it.
Anyone doing this is compound barao bansa..

That one can't happen here. You can be a Christian for all we care. Once you're a traditional ruler (not all these autonomous chiefs) na Dem get your corpse. They will wait for church or whatever creed to finish and take over the burial.

You just made his point for him, the word "violation" is European heritage. Violation of corpse in this sense is also based on European and Arabian ideology grin

You know that the whole world has agreed that the uncontacted tribe of the Amazon should be left alone. No one is castigating their beliefs and traditions. Probably "violating their death one's corpse" which they consider a honor to the death. No one from the west or anywhere around the world is allowed to bring their self righteousness near them grin

I am not saying one is better over the other but you really indeed made his point for him.
Did you watch the movie the emerald forest ?

I agree with your previous summation, what’s with the last sentence
Traditionally, Africans like to bury people with the King to go and serve him as servants in the afterlife. They used to have servants designated for this. So, since it is illegal to murder people like that these days. They may find other ways. Don’t quote me o, I am not Ijebu so, I don’t know if they still do that. But a King dying sometimes comes with people disappearing.

What motion abolishes tradition? He knew before he signed up for it.

If he was true about his intention, he would have stepped down before death.

He is a king and aware about the traditions of the throne.

How does a court abolish a tradition that is even older than the Nigerian judiciary

If he was a member they would have done their rites on him even before his death was announced.

Kingship is not a church or mosque post so they all belong to several cults.

You say I am delusional, but have you paused to reflect?

A foreigner tells you that snakes and donkeys talk and you believe it. A foreigner tells you that a man from his country is God and you believe it. They tell you that killing that man saves you and you believe it.

There is no foreigner in Islam. We are all brothers and sisters in deen. we are not divisible by colour language or tribe we are Muslims. I'm not certain if that can be say about other religions. The way of life is Islam from our forefather who is Adam

Dey deceive yourself, which gene he broke? To become Awujale you think sey naa by beans.....oga you'd better focus on your religion and leave the traditionalist. Yes, one can change after becoming a king (practicing his religion) but before becoming a king, you must do the needful. Don't be deceived.

O o le j'Oba ti o ko ba JE Oba. You can't become a King if you don't JE King.

That 'JE' get deep meaning.

The ‘JE’ get a deep meaning but you couldn’t say it because you are not proud to say it.
