There is nothing like foreign myths here. stop been delusional. All this acclaim traditional religion too came from somewhere its later spread across the globe. Abrahamic religion is the truest way of life nd its not a foreign religion.
Did your prophet fly to Jerusalem on a winged horse?

So you will rather they violate his body and remove his parts in the name of tradition
Have you forgotten that he ascended to the throne by participating in the traditional rituals? The Oba himself must have consumed ritual items in the process & I can say categorically that he was an Ogboni/Osugbo member. Otherwise, he won't become the king.

Now that he was buried according to Islamic rites, the Osugbo will proceed with proper burial according to the tradition of the Ijebu people. Whatever that needed to be taken from him would be taken. The next Oba will also be initiated & fed with souls & flesh of his predecessors.

Possibly he had paid his due when he was alive or he doesn't belong to them. If not, no one can stop them from performing their traditions.

They don't need any permission from anyone, they'll have their way by force once the deceased belong to them.

He was a Muslim and he did not hide it.. It was very disrespectful of traditionalists to attempt to disrupt burial rites
But he ascended the respectful traditional throne traditionally or Islamically?

This is not about whether you need to school me. That's what your scripture says.

So why should anyone rate your religion better than African Traditional Religion

The Osugbo completed their rites before the announcement of Awujale’s death and will return at midnight for the last step.

There was no such confrontation, Osugbo had no reason to be there at the time. They controlled the whole thing.

Did he belong and enjoyed the privileges the tradition brings till the very end? As it stands now, it is some of his ignorant subjects/associates versua what he couldnt conquer while alive.

May the just/best team win. Amen.

This is like saying a Muslim Imam of 65 years who later converted to Isese should be buried according to Islamic rites just because he was made Imam according to Islamic tradition 65 years ago..

So your excuse doesn't hold water

Okay

But the Awujale is a cultural stool, right? And the king regardless of his religion is bounded by the culture/tradition surrounding the stool?
so what's Yorùbáland cultural burial rites?. How does Yoruba bury their dead without religion?

To be a king in a Yoruba land Oga, you must pass through some traditions or rithes

They'll always claim to be either a Muslim or Christian after entronement but becoming a king in Ogun state thats deeply rooted in traditions, you don't expect anything less.
Go and claim his body and rebury him. You must learn to respect deceased and his family. If Onisese or Christian dies you don't see Muslims drag anytime with you. It is always you Christians and Onisese that are full of wahala.

My friend, it is become state law in ogun state that king is according to his religion not according some crazy tradition

Ok. So in order to maintain the tradition, he needs to be dismembered, an abobaku needs to be buried alive with him, virgins also need to be buried with him and other servants, so that they will continue to serve him in the afterlife. So we should maintain such tradition

Didn't he enjoy the paraphernalia and splendour of the throne? If you don't want to observe the tradition or be buried in traditional way, then opt for becoming a cleric instead of an Oba.
Everybody has a right to be Oba, especially when you are from the royal lineage. Traditions are not cast in stone. As the Oba, he can tweak traditions if they dont serve any purpose. What good is a tradition that demands that an Abobaku be buried alive with a dead ma, or that virgins who didnt commit any offence be buried with the king, just for the fact that they are virgins. So such traditions need to be upheld too

This needs to frowned upon. Culture and traditions need to be enforced at such times as this.

Anyone who doesn't want to be buried in traditional ways has no business being Oba.

Imagine an Oba who is expected to be a keeper/preserver of traditions refusing to be buried in traditional ways.
Please can you elucidate more on what those traditions that need to be upheld are? What are the things the Osugbo have to do to bury the king in a proper traditional way? Please tell me. Apart from the mutilation and the consumption of his body parts, you are well aware that Human sacrifice may be involved. Consumption of someone's body part (even in the name of tradition) is against pur constitution. I wont even talk about the human sacrifice part. Are you saying that if tradition goes against Fundamental human rights and the laws of the land, that it must be upheld at all cost?

He ascended the throne through Isese right. Along the line he converted abi. Why didn't he abdicate? But most of us don't like as our polithievians win a seat through PDP and along the decamp to APC then to LP then back to PDP.
With due respect to the throne... My point is we tend to quickly demonise our ATR and elevate the foreign one in a twinkle

He should have rejected being corronated by the traditions/in traditional ways. What is good in traditionshuh As if the religion he picked up is not the tradition of other tribes. Since you were born, how many abobakus have you ever met? Provide any evidence of virgins or human being buried with any dead Ọba. No be the same religion was busy killing people all over the world to forcefully convert people?
