I really want to know how Diego Luna (Andor) missed out on best lead actor, while Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) got a nod, with just 3 episodes.

I don't know how to explain it...but Pedro Pascal might actually be the most "marketable" actor currently, he has somehow moved from a tier C actor to a tier A actor, within the last 2 years, so it's not surprising that brands want his face everywhere.

In contrast, Deigo Luna was on a Pod some years ago, saying it was difficult for him getting roles, as he was always stereotyped as a "drug dealer" because of his BG, infact, no prizes for guessing his most accomplished role before Andor.

Point being, These awards shows are a brand, they care about how they are perceived, especially, in a political, socially tensed times as we are. More often than not, a stellar performance on the show, might not be enough, they tend to give or nominate people that has a certain "personality" and who wouldn't taint the brand...i don't know if you catch my drift.
