Just like in your question you said when the square is divided into 2 each part is called half, so also now that it's divided into 3, you call each part a third (one over three). So 3 thirds will make a whole square again. Writing this down in figures it'll be 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1 1 Like |
