When things like this happen, it is often not just about money, hate and bitter jealousy is definitely involved, I do not understand why many elderly Nigerians still think a certain age group should not or cannot access certain basic things, legally acquired or otherwise, isn't anyone's business, there's the law enforcement for that.
This landlord could be motivated plainly by hate, saddened by the memories of how his own youthful days were by his own father on the farm or at a wicked aunt's who never gave lunch, young folks must learn to thread carefully, especially when they have access to any of these "symbols of wealth", many Nigerians have suffered so much that they'll be envious of a neighbour who just got a 1990 Almera, I believe the abductors were shocked to only find 800k in the young man's bank account.

I know someone who did well doing his own business but felt a bit uneasy in his environment when he had 2 used cars. He moved from Ogba to Omole Phase 1. He said no one saw him as anything in the new place, and as a result, he felt safe. Sometimes, all eyes are on you because you have outgrown your present environment. Am not saying that is the case here. May God keep us from all evil.
