I thought football is the sport, and soccer is a game

I was watching the review of the club world cup and Lineker threw a jab at the Americans. He said, why do we need 26 mins half time? He was hoping that they don't continue with that in football. Then he said, it's because American sports are boring, they need to bring in an entertainment to fill the void 😂

Better said : they normally, shorten football for footer but since people use legs to shoot the ball, some people start calling shoot - shooter.

A little search would've saved you this embarrassment. Try search the history, or etymology of soccer, then you'll see that the guy is right.

Why is the sky blue? Why is T-Pain still alive? Why is my aunty not my uncle? Dude you're asking funny questions . Gymnastics has more women in it than men even more skewed than soccer. US is not Nigeria, no male kid is ever thinking of soccer over basketball or American football, it's all about history and popularity. The same reason majority of 9ja kids are not thinking of tennis over soccer. It has nothing to do with masculinity.

For US kids, it's about popularity and the chance to be like their idols, when it comes to soccer in America, you can't really find any idol because the sport is still young less than 35 years since it became mainstream but in basketball, you'll hear names like Wilt, Dr.J, Bird, Jordan, Abdul-Jabar, Mikan, Naismith and even some names going back as far as 80 years.

They tried introducing coaches calling time out in football, it didn't work. The only one FIFA allowed was water break if the weather is too hot

Not true AT ALL. Soccer requires far less intellect and strategy than American football and more physical than baseball, tennis, basketball, and far less boring than baseball. But more importantly, what explains why kids in the hoods don't play it on the streets like in other countries? Unlike other sports it requires ZERO equipments. All you need is something that can serve as ball and 4 random objects to mark the goal posts, That's all
