My opinion is that you can name a stadium or road or any other facility after him but not a school. Schools are not what you just rename like that. Most schools are named after a city or town University of Leeds, Coventry University, Oxford University e.t.c.

The same thing was nearly done to Unilag wen d maulag name came.

Many scholars have the names of the school written on their certs. So what will happen to their certs? Will they re-issue another one?

Nigeria politicians should stop naming federal and states school after any individual. They may do that to private schools. If care is not taken, all federal schools will be renamed after individuals

He should have been naked after one of the new federal universities or the proposed ones. Old federal universities like Unimaid are too old to be renamed due to their alumni who have bonded with the name. It didn't work with Unilag.

In the case of Buhar he was never a friend of Universities . Maybe they could have named Obudu Ranch or something like that after him

No! No! No! That's my alma mater. He should leave it at UNIMAID. This is the problem with African politicians, they just want self glorification and immortilising their names on public properties they won't care to maintain or the effects of such change. There's Oxford, Cambridge, and co in existence for years before now and they have had notable demised leaders but they didn't change these institutions' names creating disparities on issued documents from this schools. There are other areas the President should look into for such immortilisation, maybe the Maiduguri airport which hasn't got a change and won't affect issued documents. We need to reject this unjust action!!!

It's a good one, a welcome development which I applaud 95%, my 5% withdrawal is of my opinion that a federal university in Katsina should have been named after Bubu since we can't name an institution in Niger Republic after him.
