He did.... His successor Gen Abubakar, his CGS Vice Admiral Akhigbe and some Provisional Ruling Council (PRC) members were in Kano for his funeral.

IBB and his late wife Mariam also were there.

I agree though that it was hurriedly and poorly organised, illustrated by Abacha being buried well after dark, an unacceptable scenario in Muslim burials.
