Smurf Movie Review: I should’ve walked out 30 minutes in, but my legs betrayed me. Easily the worst movie this year — honestly, scientists might need to invent a new rating below 1/10 for this one. Pretty sure 80% of the budget went straight into Rihanna’s handbag, and the other 20% went into blue paint. But hey, we got a new Rihanna song out of it... so I guess it wasn’t completely useless. Even Taylor Swift with all her massive fans and record breaking concert revenue no fit even make a movie sell $300mn at the global box office just cos of her appearance alone. M3GAN 2.0 (2025) :6.8/10 M3GAN is back, and this time she’s louder, sassier, and more chaotic! Unlike the first movie’s horror-comedy vibe, M3GAN 2.0 leans into sci-fi action and to be honest it does feel generic in some parts. If you’ve seen Upgrade (2018), you’ll likely notice similar themes: AI going rogue, sleek fight choreography, and that whole "machine vs creator" angle. M3GAN 2.0 borrows heavily from that style, especially in how M3GAN moves and fights. While switching genres, the film still follows the social commentary path of the first movie, highlighting how society’s growing obsession with artificial intelligence and profit-driven innovation can lead to emotional disconnect and unintended consequences. M3GAN’s witty lines, cool fight scenes, keeps things fun and fast-paced. Though the plot feels a bit messy and the two-hour length drags in parts, it’s still an entertaining ride nevertheless. 2 Likes

Kaycee7:Lol, at least make dem get small taste of what it feels to be a DC fan. Any small missteps na serious criticism. Asides my trolling this movie, in my opinion it's going to do well. If people really vibe with this one I'm seeing around $650mn worldwide. Japan, Korea and China are a pretty depressed economy for movie exhibition currently. China is even worse, those people have washed themselves off Hollywood fare. Just a few movies with the exception are allowed to do well there. Imagine a market where movies where making $200-300mn. Eg, Fast & Furious movies, Aquaman etc. If you flop everywhere, China can give you a lifeline. That is no more. They're more aligned with their own domestic movies now. Hollywood now have to adjust budgets accordingly now knowing that the second largest market in the world isn't home for Hollywood no more. As regards what you said earlier, yep, it might be looking DC getting stronger and a worthy competitor but Marvel already losing ground. Let's wait and see how things pan out. But it ain't looking good for the MCU. 1 Like |
