Lauren James and co. are minutes away from crashing out to Sweden in the QF of the women's Euro.Well, this was going to be my post, but before I could even finish typing, England have pulled it back to 2-2!Incredible! Lucy Bronze pulled one back before Agyemang equalized immediately |

Penalties in this women Euros are disgusting No power in any of their shots. Keepers are just saving pens with 70% probability |

Pure drama in the England - Sweden penalty shout-out. Good entertainment, but one of the worst shootouts I've ever witnessed. Especially on the part of the Lionesses. Sweden's keeper has made four saves, but most were atrocious penalties from England. Hampton has saved two, while Sweden have missed three themselves. England make it through simply because their opponents were more inept than them. Kudos to both keepers; Fall for saving four kicks, and Hampton for essentially keeping England in the game once it came to sudden death. |

I feel sorry for the Sweden goalkeeper She saved every penalty and looked like she would save every single one. . . . but her teammates were just missing target |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 10:53pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
BlueMann:Right from the first penalty I could tell that Falk would save most penalties and she did. Her teammates just threw it away by missing. She looked miles better than Hannah Hampton at pens Anyway England into the final cos Italy would be a walkover. Let's go England! |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueMann: 10:56pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
14 penalties, nine missed. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by BlueMann: 10:59pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
Ibime:She was better, but not by miles. Hampton saved two herself and followed the majority of the kicks. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 11:01pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
BlueMann:From how I saw it she was very close even to the first penalty which was quite powerful and looked like she would save everyone The only ones that beat her were into the roof of the net. End of day. Sweden lost 3 match winning penalties in a row |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Amethyst101(m): 11:06pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
How will your goalkeeper make 4 saves in a penalty shootout and still end up on the losing side ![]() |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Amethyst101(m): 11:08pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
Ibime:Those pens from England were terrible and I expected better. Asides Lucy Bronze and Chloe Kelly, with her trademark kick, the others were just rubbish ![]() |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 11:10pm On Jul 17, 2025 |
Amethyst101:There is no power in their legs. It's like once the GK coach has given instruction to the keeper where to dive, it's impossible for the keeper not to save it In men's game, even if GK coach gives keeper instruction, keeper will often get beaten by the power of the shot |

Sportsweb:Because he choosed to. Last I checked, JP's Chelsea career just started. Are you willing to bet he will play only number 9 through out this coming season?
|
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 8:06am On Jul 18, 2025 |
Sportsweb:I can tell you the answer. It's for the exact same reason he always played Jacckson - the philosophy. And the philosophy is collective attacking success. Using the "no 9" to maximum effect/involvement in build-up play, to create an overwhelming amount of scoring chances for any player, not just the striker. And if you focused on the tactical display, you should realise that JP is being deployed in the exact same way as NJ. Drop deep, receive play with back to goal, carry CBs with you, make swift half-turns that dislodge oppo defensive structure whilst your mandem run into those spaces, or find your next man in midfield for the third-man pass that releases your wingers. The only difference here is, overall, JP is a better player than Jackson. So JP improves the collective attacking success. Might he end up scoring more goals than Jackson? Almost definitely. Seeing as he's a better overall player. Maresca is a proper support cast proponent ......to the letter. Maresca does not play JP as a no 9 because he's a better striker. The stats don't support it. If he needed a striker, Osimhen, Gyokeres, and all those 3 for 5 pounds strikers that Airmark introduces every week would have been bought. He instead focuses on what I described above - every man being good at goal-scoring, but every man getting a chance to score, and scoring it. Focusing on a striker sacrifices the entire philosophy for one man's gain. That's not the plan. That's never been the plan. The focus is less on how many goals the striker can score but how many goals he can make the team score. It's the reason why JP would play ahead of Delap, Guiu, et al. |

timbros:Simple question sir, why did Joao Pedro first three game under Enzo Maresca coming in as a number 9? I have no business with his position at Brighton |

Sports :oweb: ![]() That's their way. They would muddle up the water to deceive you, just because they don't want to accept that they goofed. Now they are renovating their stands, and now calling a striker leading the line, a support cast and shouldn't be called the striker. The same Nateevs said here that no need buying another striker, Jackson is enough. nateevs:Below he explained what he meant by support casts, i.e those LW, RW and others that support our top 9, Jakujaku Jackson. But now, he is now calling our top 9, Joao Pedro, a support cast just because he doesn't want to lose argument. ![]() You were all about support casts and against getting a shiny striker to replace your adopted Jakujaku boy, Jackson. nateevs:This is Nateevs distinguishing support casts from a striker and the need not to touch the striker but change the support casts. nateevs:It's shameful when these people goof they don't accept but use every ridiculous means to avoid the L. Terrible. I am so elated that JP was instrumental to our becoming the World champions and his Jakujaku Jackson didn't score even 1 goal in the tournament.

Sportsweb: ![]() They said JP is not a striker but a support cast. Even when he benched their jakujaku Jackson. They were sad that JP disgraced them and exposed their lack of knowledge of our major problem. timbros: |

Katcall:In the past 10 years, how many different teams have won the English Premier League compared to PSG in the French league? Who is the current epl champions? As you mentioned, PSG often faced tired European teams, while Chelsea had to play Brazilian teams full of energy and better adapted to the weather conditions during the Club World Cup. No wonder Botafogo was the only team to defeat PSG before we beat them in the final. Chelsea had a tougher path in the tournament because they faced strong and energetic Brazilian teams. |
