Dangote Refinery is the noisest in world. Every time na cho cho cho. Do you need to cancel a scheme because of few criminals. Why not sanction them and open up for other more responsible companies to come into the scheme. I don't just understand how we operate in this country. Always difficult to punish offenders but always easy for us to punish everybody for the crime of a few. |

While the Dangote refinery did not name any of the defaulting marketers, checks show that its current list of strategic partners includes MRS Oil, Heyden Petroleum, Ardova Plc, Hyde Energy, Optima Energy, and Techno Oil. Others are TotalEnergies, Garima Petroleum, Sunbeth Energies, Sobaz Nigeria Ltd, Virgin Forest Energy, Sixxco Oil Ltd, NU Synergy Ltd, and Soroman Nigeria Ltd. A |

Nigerians and criminal sense are like bread and butter. While Dangote is trying to help, Saboteurs are muddling things up. |

Bamibor:The refining license prohibits ownership of retail franchise that is why his only option is to partner with them but unfortunately these same partners are being dishonest, if only NNPC will be willing to support his move maybe it would have help if he partners with them to sell at a discount to Nigerians through there retail outlets. |

baralatie:Exactly. Name and shame them. Let's know those involved. Make the condition robust enough to take care of stuffs like this. Not canceling the scheme. |

The most fantastically corrupt country in the world, the best thing for this country is to just leave everybody to their elements and let nature takes its course, there is always one criminal ready to destroy any good policy of people or government. |

Why are we like this? Why must every good intentioned policy be an avenue for some unscrupulous elements to make fast bucks? When you hear Alh. Aliko Dangote himself constantly lamenting about oil industry mafias or cabals, Baba knows what his eyes have seen in this brief period of his entry into the industry that's making him cry out every time. The same way they found a way to subvert fuel subsidy and enrich themselves at the expense of the Nigerian Government and people, they've also found another dubious way to short-change Dangote and enrich themselves. Truth is, the average Nigerian is greedy & a thief: lack of opportunities is what has made this disturbing trait dormant in us. It will usually rear its ugly head once opportunity presents itself and the risk of getting caught is "low". |

Oil Marketers Association and co will not say anything now or sanction members over these corrupt, fraud and sharp practices but will open their dirty and filthy mouths when they reduce fuel prices.. Of a truth we need more refineries(private or govt owned) for healthy competition I swear. Dangote wants to reduce Gas prices and redistribute to all, these evil people have started shouting. Please Dangote sideline these marketers and sell directly yourself and your August 1 for redistribution must start by God's grace . The oil sector saboteurs and co you all are about to feel and see the heat..God will punish all of you |

lionshare:Corruption is more at the grassroots. For instance bulk LPG by major markerters is supplied at 800-850 but retailed at 1250 in Jos Plateau State. I am privy to this information. The product is brought to be cheaper but greedy retailers formed a association, they will be screaming na god oOoOO, business is moving fine. Forget get Nigerians oOoOO |

cule7:The same practice that led to scrapping of the petrol subsidy, the price jumped from 200 to over 1000 naira before Dangote refinery crashed the price a bit. And today, all Nigerians are paying for the result of petrol subsidy fraud |

Victorodehankel:NNPC retail outlets staff are not different too. They too are notorious for diverting their products during scarcity once there is a price difference |

Igahbarr:Same you will return here to shout " Dangote is building monopoly". Until our justice system is sanitised and the rule of laws truly rules. When every culprits of fraud without fear or favours are made to face the music and the innocents not made to pay for a wrong charges because of not being influential. |

Have your own chain of filling stations and supply directly to them . That's the only way to get your products and the pricing to the masses . Anything else is a waste of time |

I just hope with the way things are moving , those marketers will not turn dangote refinery to moribund. The other day one comment here says why are they dragging dangote? Marketers should pull resources together build a competitive refinery or support one that will dance to their tune as this would put dangote on the run. Or which one is this one that they are behaving like a torn in the flesh to Nigerians. Marketers this today, marketers this tomorrow... We are tired, make Nigeria governable and comfortable for us abeg! |

Name the defaulters/criminals, tag them economic terrorists and even worse. Prosecute them and punishbthem severely as deterrence. Why must we be evil to ourselves like this? Surprisingly they will be elderly people orchestrating this madness/national sabotage aiding the security and economic destabilization of the country. Terrible people!! Maxymilliano: |

That my friend is one of the problem associated with subsidies it create room for arbitrage. |

Dangote as a private company mobilise your own trucks and deliver directly to filling stations, under this subsidised system, use NNPCL and get your own filling stations or choose credible partners. Marketers are greedy... marketers have no right to tell you not to buy trucks and distribute your subsidised fuel. Do it to give back for righteousness sake, you are giving to the masses who need it. |
| Re: Dangote Halts Fuel Discount Scheme Amid Fraud Allegations by dederocs(m): 1:42pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
Pythagoras001:There are intelligent ways to do subsidy, Dangote can get trucks and deliver it himself to filling stations. Subsidy is how he can give back to Nigerians for being his main customer base down the years. |

lionshare:We were all lied to at a young age, every Nigerian tells that same lie about having "bad" leaders to escape accountability. Leaders do not come from mars, they are from within us. We don't have bad leaders, we have a lot of bad people. |
| Re: Dangote Halts Fuel Discount Scheme Amid Fraud Allegations by OMBIIGA: 2:14pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
dederocs:The greatest mistake of the Nigerian state was allowing the market forces determine the prices of petroleum Products for in country consumption. As it were, the demand for Petroleum Products are perfectly inelastic,as such considering the need for energy security a price modulation mechanism is apt otherwise considering logistics in the supply chain, the Offtakers will be swirled by arbitrage and price variability will take over. |
| Re: Dangote Halts Fuel Discount Scheme Amid Fraud Allegations by dederocs(m): 2:21pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
OMBIIGA:Dangote have the capacity, he should do distribution...big companies like Nigerian breweries, Coca-Cola, thermocool do their own distribution to direct consumers, this cut off extra costs for the consumers...by cutting off middle men. |
| Re: Dangote Halts Fuel Discount Scheme Amid Fraud Allegations by Kukutente23: 4:36pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
Dangote don't start with media circus You plant a story then deny it officially Why don't you name the marketers involved in the sharp practice Is the point of subsidy not to ensure that marketers sell at market price? So where's the fraudulent behavior if the third party still sells at market price Unfortunately a lot of people don't read They just skim the headline and jump to comment Dangote should do whatever is in his mind to do without blackmailing marketers |
