The attached port is what Sun King solar yellow box uses to keep nigerians consumers in the dark. Due to my line of work as a "repair man" in some electronics and other fields, I come across people seeking my knowledge on how to fix this but unfortunately, this one seems to be difficult for me to crack. After careful observation, I noticed Sun King Nigeria intentionally added this as part of their "Planned Obsolescence" to keep stealing from Nigerians through unending low quality battery replacement because anything goes in Nigeria. This attached port is not supported by any 12V DC Adapter as I am still trying to figure this out. The extra ear piece looking pin carries a separate 3v that is supplied to the TV as well. I have powered the TV but it is currently displaying "DISABLED" Can any tech man here help on how to figure out the tiny pin without blowing up the TV power pack ? In India, you can use both NEPA light and the so called yellow box battery to power your TV. Example: Some years ago, Samsung Phones produce Samsung AO1 and MO1 budget phone same period. A01 was designed for Nigeria with 3000mah battery while M01 was specifically for their India market with a 4000mah battery and other solid specification. I still use the MO1 budget phone till this day 😆

I've also tried to power my sunking TV via a 12V dc adapter, but it keeps displaying "Disabled" after switching on the TV. So I've come to a conclusion that I'll just get an 18Volt/5amp dc adapter that can power/charge the sunking yellow box whenever there's power supply or standby generator running, while the solar panel will power/charge the unit during the day if power is out |

dynamicteejay:Where you able to charge your Home 500x with 'NEPA' light? |

Kizyte:Yes we did but you will continue to use the yellow box by inserting a jack to the port. The good part is the TV is running on 12v 5A Adapter. Solution 2: Replace the TV board and all these stress gone. It will no longer run DC. Overall the company deliberately did this to steal from their Nigeria customers. |

Pray4meJC:Is stealing actually the right word? It's branding please. And that port that looks like the earpiece you quoted is a communication port. It's to ensure pay-as-you-go users don't use-and-run. |
