People need to understand Gunn's perspective to making a movie. Gunn is a comic director. He loves having fun and giving a huge laugh and humor. He's always having one lovely character in all his movies that will carry the whole show and his vilian are always portrayed horribly the end.

All this trait ain't for superman or Batman. These are serious characters. That grows from their darkness to light through enormous pains and sacrifices. Gunn doesn't understand that at all. Snyder does and Christopher Nolan does.

Nothing wrong with a few jokes here and there in order to occasionally balance with the movie's main intention but making it probably the main theme of a action hero movie like superman was a major let down!
Secondly,I hated the fact that Superman constantly got his azz kicked by virtually everyone as if he was a rookie Shazam in the movie!

The Clark character didn't also fair any better as his portrayal was that of an emasculated and emotional man compared to other previous superman characters!
Gunn is a good director but I can't just help feeling he was the wrong choice for the superman movie!
They will likely make huge sales but we will still have to wait for another DC superhero movie that really embodies the full attributes of the 'man of steel' tag!

Did we watch the same movie

Superman only lost to one person in the whole movie. Ultraman, his cl**e, who was being controlled by Lex, the genius billionaire who studied Superman and the way he fights and even developed his own counter moves to defeat him.

The movie even states at the beginning that Superman is the most powerful metahuman in the world and he has never lost a battle in over 3 years...until Ultraman.

Bro beat Ultraman and the Engineer, beat all of the Lex's goons in a few seconds. Escaped a pocket dimension with kryptonite poison in his body and saved many people when the city was falling apart.

So tell me again which movie did you watch
