chopnaira:I'm aware that some prominent Ibos (such as Orji Uzor-Kalu) have spoken against the use of this illegal Eze Ibo concept outside Iboland for more than 20 years now yet, these guys continue to proliferate illegally. The simple use of "Chairman or President General" of Ibos in Kano or whatever location they are in around the world is okay but they like to engage in needless show offs. The IRRESPONSIBLE illegal use of the title HRM by these impostors (who also appoint other so-called sub-Ezes in different LGAs of the states they live in) when they are NOT from royal families even in their villages East of Nigeria. The official Kings of the ALL the over 250 distinct ethnic groups in the non-Ibo states all over Nigeria from the Obongs, to the Obas in the ENTIRE Yorubaland (from Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo), the Amanyanabos, to the Sarkis, etc, MUST ensure that they do NOT have anyone calling himself an Eze with the HRM title again. Lagos State especially MUST enforce this because it's there that these things have been bastardized the one calling himself an Eze Ibo of Ajao Estate, illegally using the title HRM which is ONLY reserved for people from REAL royal families worldwide. |

Kewekubosineh:In the 90s, there was an unwritten instruction from the igbo leadership that there should be no igbo king outside igboland. If you are igbo, you will know that kingship in igboland is not inherited. Its by selection of an individual in the next community(whose turn it is to present) and theres an election by the various communities forming the kingdom. But in the case of this so-called "Eze Ndigbo" its the riches person that puts himself there. Since it goes against the democratic principles of our culture its therefore null & void. There are igbo autonomous communities/unions active in other regions of nigeria, & serving the interest of ndigbo, lets not allow these rich capitalists to gaslight us with tribalism. |

Nice one! The Onyendu Ndigbos should also stop using elaborate royal regalias but adopt simple traditional wears. |

Kewekubosineh:Yoruba kingship is by inheritance and the fact that the first king founded the land. You just don’t go to a new location as a Yoruba where there are already kings and proclaim yourself King. If anyone is doing it, they are doing it without absolutely no support or agenda from Yoruba. If such story comes out they will be largely dealt with. All valid Yoruba Kings can trace their ancestry and royal line. The ones saying they are King in America are recognized by Americans and it has nothing to do with Yoruba people. They are black diaspora and brought forth their own King. No one went anywhere to impose or call themselves King. If black diaspora come together and choose a King then show up in Ife, demanding recognition of their King and ancestry, what can we do about it? Which mouth we go use chase them when they strongly believe? Even the region where this King went to show himself was founded by Yoruba diaspora who also claim homage to Ife. We don’t go and tussle with anyone in their land, our land is sufficient for us. It’s our people that belong to that country who come home and force us to recognize them and their leaders. Even in Ga territory, no Yoruba can go there and claim Oba, even when they have kinship to the GA’s. We see it as an insult and it’s just not done because Kingship is a big deal. It shows aggression. If such is posted on NL, I guarantee you, such a figure will face a lot of insults. Yoruba have been in Ghana and trading for centuries, that’s the ones from Nigeria. Even intermarrying and we have never thought to call ourselves King. |

richiemcgold:Where are the elders? My brother, these people don’t have elders and I am 1000% certain that this warning will be disregarded ![]() Kingship is alien to Igboland because every Igbo man believes he’s king (according to them) |

samnaija:Firstly, it’s called class and if you don’t believe, you are free to go try your luck to have your own kingdom there and let’s see how it goes. Secondly, the yorubas have never at any point claimed to be ‘headless’ unlike you ibos who often claim that kingship is not known in Igboland since every ibo man is king on his own and doesn’t bow to no man not knowing this is a big testament to the fact that your region is a highly disorganized one😂 A well-organized human society will always have rulership and will never claim to be leaderless. Thirdly, those people living in that Oyotunde in South Carolina are children of immigrants whose ancestors were from the Ife kingdom and out of the high regard they had for their prestigious Yoruba heritage, they taught their children in order to preserve this unrivaled culture by establishing the kingdom and good thing is that the yorubas are respecters of their host and will never call their hosts’ lands “no man’s land. This is the difference my friend. |

The oba of the south carolinA village, mistakenly paid homeage to the palace in oyo . And was beaten to a pulp and later died. This is the jealousy that is natural within. If this can be meted out to their people. What else remains...... |

samnaija:Rest! The Oyotunji is a village in the USA, its not the same as having Eze Ndigbo in different places Those guys are a U.S.A citizen and have nothing to do with Nigerians. Maybe ancestral root, but thats it. Its different from crowning yourself a king in another man's village |
