madridguy:What criteria do you think that are considered before naming a street? Some of you think that someone will just wake up one morning and decide to name a street after him. That you have many streets in Lagos and other Yoruba state named after the Igbos is the testament of the great impact they have had in the area. How many Yorubas impacts on their host community? |

@Jman06 Please which love una dey show? The love that will not allow you people sell land to non indigenous people. You are counting only one Adelabu Street come to my state let me show you lots of streets named after Igbos. How many Yorubas have you seen calling Igbo land no mans land and laying claim to it? Where were you when Igbos were serving as commissioners in the West? I really love your suggestions so let it start right now we don't care! |
| Re: Awolowo Street In Ebonyi State by Thunderfayamods: 9:46pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
harjay1986:Peter Obi their brother sacked all non indigenous people from Anambra civil service. People from other Igbo states were sacked. They don't even recognize their own people. |

I don't know why most people don't know history. In 1904 many yorubas migrated to Abakiliki settled down there. They began having children and decided to name their children ibo names and that was how they became ibos. Same also happened in present day opobo. King Jaja of Opobo was from Nkwere in Imo state but migrated to opobo and today opobo people are part of Rivets state. The same applies to the people of Ngwa. Ngwa people today are people from Etche in Rivers state who migrated to Aba and spread to many areas which became Ngwa land today. In conclusion, ebonyi people are decendants of oduduwa |

franchasofficia:All these your long statement doesn't add up to me. I might not have been to Ebonyi before to know what's happening there, but I know Onitsha very well and there are numerous Yorubas who lives and are doing very well there. They want to invest but you didn't allow them because U re not ready to sell your land to them. Even one of your pastors in Onitsha buttress the point last year in his church asking his congregation if you have seen a Yoruba person built a house in Onitsha, congregation answered noo. So what re we talking about. Awolowo they mentioned I'm sure he doesn't even have a house on the road because U begin to defend you people built first there was the reason they name street on your name. It's still my question, do you people allow it in your area? |

Yorubas are tribalists. The earlier other tribes accept it , the better...just keep on paying them back in their own coin...they are always envious and bitter towards anyone thy perceive is better than them... its in their DNA.... just imagine them celebrating what's happening to igbos in Ghana.....no be witchcraft be that?? |
