He has a point. I think it is just an exercise that is not of no value

Imagine leaving the like of London NY Cape Town Dybai etc to go invest in the evil firest of ipobland. God forbid bad thing.

franchasofficia:
Bro this thing is simple.

Your people intentionally refused to explore Southeastern states, claiming that southeast is unlivable and have nothing to offer, it's this, its that, and that Yorubas cant live there nor invest there.

Igbos on the other hand don't care about how any place on earth is, they see opportunities everywhere and anywhere there are humans. If there are no opportunities, they create one, the stoop low to serve the locals just to get paid, at the end they contribute to the growth of anywhere they relocate to and reside. And when they make money from wherever they reside, they dont use discrimination or cunning attitude to avoid investing back there, instead they take that place as their second home and start reinvesting every penny they earned from that place back to that place through building lasting infrastructural investments, buildings, hotels, factories, transport terminals, hospitals, malls, shops, car wash, bars, restaurants, just name it, and from there they become major stakeholders in that region or place they live.

Common sense demand that the locals make such people a part of them and reciprocate their love and contribution in the development of their area, that's how Igbos earn whatever they have outside Igbo land, that's how they earned the street names named after them.

Now how do you expect Southeastern states that Yorubas always boast that they can never visit or live or invest in to name plenty streets after people that brag that their land is barren and unlivable? If we have 1million Yorubas living in the Southeast and investing heavily in our real estate, industry, education, etc, courtesy demands that we will start naming streets, roads, monuments after successful Yorubas that live or lived in the Southeast and contributed to the growth and development of the east.

But your people want streets in Southeast named after them when they refused to contribute to southeast development by going there to live, invest and contribute to the region's growth, it doesn't work that way

You don't.

It's mostly the first person that develops a land in an undeveloped area, that applies to the government for the Street to be named.

So you should be asking how many Yoruba people have gone to a bush in southeast, clear it and develop it.
This is so untrue. You guys just say things that are false with confidence and sometimes even back it up with examples/lies.

Ok. Pls how do you explain a Peter Obi having at least 90% votes in the last general election in the south east. Atiku an Hausa man won in Osun a Yoruba state. Obi an Ibo man won in Lagos a Yoruba state. Pls not ethnic and tribe?

Kayrich:
All these your long statement doesn't add up to me. I might not have been to Ebonyi before to know what's happening there, but I know Onitsha very well and there are numerous Yorubas who lives and are doing very well there. They want to invest but you didn't allow them because U re not ready to sell your land to them.
Even one of your pastors in Onitsha buttress the point last year in his church asking his congregation if you have seen a Yoruba person built a house in Onitsha, congregation answered noo. So what re we talking about.
Awolowo they mentioned I'm sure he doesn't even have a house on the road because U begin to defend you people built first there was the reason they name street on your name.
It's still my question, do you people allow it in your area?
I have challenged Yorubas on Nairaland and on Twitter to come to me that I have plenty lands for sale in Owerri, Enugu, Awka, etc, up till today none has come forward.

Yorubas don't like investing outside Yoruba land, especially in Southeast, then SouthSouth and even North, except Abuja. Some do in PH, Kano, etc but it's very rare. It's a cultural habit among the Yorubas.

Even in your own home states, you guys don't even build good mansions befitting of your financial statuses. I speak from experience cos I did my nysc in Osun state and have traveled round Southwest states.

I was shocked the day I visited Bola Ige village. And so many other prominent Yoruba people's hometown, most don't invest back there, you guys only run to Lagos, Ibadan and few other Southwest state capitals, reason most Yoruba towns and remote communities are desolate and left for Fulani herdsmen to take over. Yorubas don't have the habit of investing in building infrastructures everywhere their foot steps on like Igbos, so it's beyond saying Southeast don't sell lands to strangers cos it's all fabricated lies.

You guys value luxury cars, owambe parties, and celebrations more than building infrastructures. The ones you guys are doing is because Igbos are doing so you guys are copying them or trying to outdo and outshine them as usual.

You can hardly see a Yoruba man that made some money in the city or Lagos or other cities and went back to his remote villages where he actually came from to make serious impact and build magnificent house there, only few Yorubas who must have mingled with Igbos do that. You know what I am talking about.

I repeat again, if truly you need land in Southeast, I have acquired a lot of land I bought for resell, so DM me let's discuss price.

The only land you cannot be able to buy in Igbo land is family's village compound or people's ancestral home in their village, such lands are not sold even to fellow Igbos cos it's considered a taboo in Igbo culture.

But every other land is sellable if you can afford it. We have estates coming up in various parts of Southeast begging for investors, make una come and buy lands and build universities because Yorubas are the leader in the private university business in Nigeria.

This is another verifiable fact to tell Nigerians that Yorubas dont like investing outside Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, etc.

Go to Benin city, Kano, Kaduna, Warri, Asaba, Portharcourt, Jos, Makurdi, Maiduguri, Yola, Jalingo, Yenagoa, Uyo, Eket, Calabar, etc, you will find more Igbo landlords than Yoruba landlords in all the states of Nigeria. That is a proof that Igbos are truly developers.

Yorubas don't have the boldness to travel to upcoming towns and cities, they only go to already developed cities with open opportunities, they are not good at spotting new opportunities in remote or unknown areas unlike the Igbos that even spot opportunities even in desert and are never scared to explore any part of Nigeria or the world at large, forget, it's not by noise, it's God's gift mhen cool

Word 'mostly'.

Secondly, the people living there didn't apply for a name. Then your 'Uncle' came and 'named' it. You can't name a street without government approval.

So come to Igboland and look for an unnamed street and apply for it to be named after you.
Is it by force to come to or stay in igbolandhuh

If Igboland were okay, why will Igbos be leaving there at the slightest opportunityhuh?

Which one is Adron homes and property again ?

We have a lot real estate homes and property here in the east that can even challenge your so called Adron home.

Do have the money to buy land worth of 100 to 200 million ? You don't have the money to buy the land. Thats your problem not ours. If you have the cash, they will sell that land to you.

Do you people buy land in Kano , Abuja , sokoto , maidugri etc. Even though those places are cheap ? Do you guys buy land there too ?

The business in land is very simple. If you have money. They will sell Land to you.
