Good evening gurus in the house, I'm in a fix currently as Samsung pass isn't working on the new galaxy note 10 I got... Below is the screenshot of error message it's giving, pls how do I rectify it as I've never rooted the phone and besides it's a new phone

Yes I was the one that unboxed it as the carton was sealed

You must have bought a refurbished device packaged and sealed.

The online sales market is currently flooded with refurbished Samsung phones. The seller can import from China, print out cartons and seal pretty easy.

I've installed my bank apps and it's working but I'm scared to login as I don't trust the phone security

It is irrelevant as long as the security mechanism has been tripped off. Samsung Pass won't work anymore.

If your bank apps are working, the device is not rooted.

Install Root Check from Play Store to verify status.

I misread your post. I asked if your apps were working. The only way to know is to login. Most of them especially StanbicIBTC will not allow you to proceed if they detect root.

Alright lemme try downloading stanbicIBTC to verify though I don't use the bank

You can unroot the phone by reinstalling the official firmware of the phone. If you can't do it, just take it a software repairer. They just need to download and flash the official ROM from Samsung.
Once it's successfully installed, your phone will no longer be rooted

I think in Samsung privacy policy which I read, it says once rooted the security patch or so is gone forever... I'm just confused

return the phone to where you bought it to avoid issues

Maybe it's a stolen phone who knows

Samsung pass is meant to store vital information so if it says device is rooted or doesn't trust it then it certainly is.

The device must have been rooted or flashed while being refurbished because s10 no longer exists on brand new

During the lifespan of the device, it was either rooted or a custom firmware was flashed. This action trips off the security mechanism meaning that Samsung Pass will never work even when you restore the device to factory settings.

Currently, the phone is unrooted and secure for usage. If your bank apps login successfully, great! If not, you need to return the phone and ask for a refund.

Calm down guy, now I don’t mean to sound arrogant or anything, those who have spoken have done so to the best of their knowledge, if you’re in Osogbo or around Osun state, bring the phone, I will help you fix whatever issue you have, unroot it and back to legacy/default/factory setting with ability to use Samsung pass. Let me know if it’s possible for you. Your phone is doable.
