You people just come out from nowhere and start saying all manners of demonic instigated argument.
In my street in Lagos, despite aworis Available in the area. Back in the days papa an Anambra man was the oldest in our street and was loved by everyone.
He was the street chairperson while I was growing up and everybody was fine with papa being the street chairperson.
With that his tortoise car back then. We did not name our street after him but I'm very sure everyone of us can agree to name a legacy project after papa.
He died at a very old age about two decades ago.
When Tinubu and Peter Obi has not polluted everywhere with their devil incarnate supporters causing trouble everywhere.
Now we're do street name vs street name smh.

You all claim and only talk about Lagos as if it was not a Federal capital of Nigeria at some point. I thought you would have mentioned Ekiti or Osun state
Calabar was the first Capital. Please leave lagos and migrate to Calabar if you want old capital city. Ayiri.

I thought you people said Eboyin people are not IGBOS? Lmao 😂🤣😂🤣 Well no Yoruba man will lay claim to another person's land even if we are living there. So they can change the name if they want we are not bothered.
It's even an insult to name such a ghetto street after the man who gave Africa the first Television station, gave Nigeria the first university, first skyscraper, first industrial estate and the vision of universal free education. They should rename that shit to Azikwe Street immediately. Shior

if they ask you same question now you will start wailing. The follow up question will be why not apply same to your state. The guy even try, if you can name just 10.

bring upto 1000 youruba people living in ebonyi state and I will bring 10million Igbo people living in Lagos state
Common bro,

Yorubas aren't in Ebonyi because of the low opportunities there not because they don't like Igbos.

Go to Port-Harcourt or Abuja and see them in their numbers.

Why would a South-westerner leave his region and move to where there are less opportunities? No be everything be tribalism please

Yorubas are full of tribalist, envy. Only in Lagos that was built with Nigerian wealth. You hate people yet you fight to be with them. Many hatred originates from there, especially Lagos.

The federal capital you people are talking about is just yaba , Lagos island, Obalende and Ikoyi, Every other places had always been Western region before so called federal capital was returned to the rightful owner after taking the Capital to Abuja

Why don't Igbos see opportunities abroad because it is mainly Yorubas that have tangible businesses abroad.
Now this is where you messed up your verbal and quantitative reasoning.
Re: Awolowo Street In Ebonyi State by bablon20(m): 5:33am On Jul 19, 2025
You lied! The street I build my house in ikorodu was not named after d first developer of the area. It was after d area has been developed some set of people started fighting over whose name will be use to name d street.

I think they have to apply to the local govt office to have it registered.

jmoore:
Do you even understand the circumstances of most names of the streets?
You don't.

It's mostly the first person that develops a land in an undeveloped area, that applies to the government for the Street to be named.

So you should be asking how many Yoruba people have gone to a bush in southeast, clear it and develop it.

i haven't see anything good the Yoruba people had done in ebonyi state to have a street named after their people. But, go check that of lagos. Iti.
How would you know know when Yorubas are not noisemakers like your people.
If Yorubas are named after streets in the East or anywhere, they deserve it by being the people who gave us TV,Radio,Newspaper etc.
They deserve to be honored even if they are not in their millions like the South Esterners are in Yorubaland.

If Ebonyi was fertile enough for progress, Yoruba will move there to tap into the progress. No one came to develop Lagos, they came to tap into the progress in Lagos. Don't be ignorant please

A street named after Obafemi Awolowo in Ebonyi State.[/quote]It is a shame on the State Awolowo family and the entire Yoruba people to name a single land street after Late Pa Awolowo. You better rename your street... what nonsense... do you know some of the popular and busy places and roads named after Zik and Ahmadu Bello? Naming a single lane and street of just 4 km in Igbo land after a great sage is now something big in your eyes. ... Even for me, as an ordinary man in Nigeria, this is the kind of street that was named after me...and I'm not up to the shoes of Pa Awo.

I don't think any state this country is more accommodating than lagos state. But you don't go to people's land and call it a no man's land because you have given a good atmosphere for business and right to contest on political ground. I lived in portharcourt for 20 years and I move arround the east. When you talk about your tribe, you can feel the hatred in their eyes not to talk of partaking in anything political. I know how other tribe who live in the east, are being marginalised

It's not that Yorubas don't appreciate the fact that you Igbos have contributed to the development of SW but the challenge is when you now begin to tell them that their land is no longer theirs because they welcomed you. With that, you have overstepped your boundaries and they have decided to put you back to where you belong. No one has prevented you from going to develop the bush in Ebonyin you know!

I currently stay in the street named after an Igbo man in Ayobo it's called Adihie Alaribe street.
I'm also a landlord there but the man was the first person to build house in the street and he was a very good man, he's now late though. His nickname was Oko-Ijebu, his wife his not from Ijebu ooo, she's from Anambra while he's from Imo state, for u to know how much he fraternized with the Yoruba people who are his host.
He didn't claim to be the owner of the land, he knew he was privileged.
Even years after his death, they tried to change the name of the street, i joined his children and other youths to make sure that did not happen, we love and maintained the name as Adihie Alaribe. It wasn't even his real name, it was a title from Igbo land.
So make una shut up!
Don't be ungrateful to your host and you'll enjoy the fruit of the land!

Sorry, I rem they contributed esusu to build 3rd mainland bridge, Apapa Ports, Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Jakande Estate....Infact all the infrastructure in Lagos was built with moneys contributed by Governments of the 5 plots region.
Keep enjoying your selective amnesia. Dey play.
Anybody that questions Igbo contribution in development of Lagos state is just being dishonest so I am not taking you seriously.
