APC TO ADC - YOUR ATTACK OF STATE BURIAL OF LATE PRESIDENT BUHARI, INSENSITIVE, UNACCEPTABLE*

Triggered by the dignified state burial of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed on last week, and the show of compassion and support for his bereaved family by the government and people of Nigeria, the African Democratic Party (ADC), in a statement of Friday, July 18, 2025, accused the President Bola Tinubu-led administration of expoliting the late President’s death for political gains.

The party’s criticism of the dignified state burial accorded the late President is as spooky as it is unconscionable. Again, the ADC has showcased itself to be without any understanding of customary state practice, and lacking empathy and essential humanity. It has cut its own portrait as a party of mindless political dregs, a dump of Nigeria’s internally displaced politicians, ready to do or say anything in chase of attention but sinking itself deeper in quicksand of ignominy.

That the ADC is blowing up over the state burial of the late President only reflects the party’s duplicity and insensitivity. What would the ADC have had President Tinubu do? Deny the late President Buhari the honour of a befitting state burial? Withhold empathy and support for the bereaved former first family? As a party that can begrudge the dead, the ADC must surely disdain the living.

It is unacceptable for the ADC to politicize a solemn moment of national grief, more so, as its senseless statement was issued during the week of national mourning for the late President. The party’s reference to heartfelt gestures and activities of the government in honour of the late President as “exploitation” is beyond the pale. It falls far outside the widest and wildest stretch of justifiable opposition politics. Clearly, the party and its villainous leaders have allowed their humanity to be corroded by desperation for inordinate and self-serving power.

The late President Buhari lived a life of illustrious service to country as a soldier, military Head of State, a two-term democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was also just a human being, a father, survived by a loving but grieving family worthy of our collective empathy and support at this difficult time.

President Bola Tinubu showed compassion and a deep sense of loss of a friend, close political associate and predecessor. He demonstrated patriotism and leadership by overseeing and participating in honouring the late President who gave so much to our dear nation.

Nigerians must remain weary of the ADC and its band of political marauders prowling for power with nothing to offer Nigerians except peddling falsehood and vilifying a President who is hard at work for the transformation and progress of our nation.

Farewell to one party state dreams of Tinubu and his APC. Just within a few weeks, ADC has risen to a formidable opposition that will challenge APC. Good for our democracy.
I like the fact that ADC is really peppering the ruling party.

Yeah... they're not letter them rest and it's giving them restlessness

The APC politicized everything back then including the needless loss of innocent citizens to the BH terrorists insurgency and other catastrophic events in our national life.

The ADC seems to be the only political party giving it back to the APC wotoporously after a very long time. What a time to be alive.

One notable trait of Nigerians is their strong sense of loyalty to oppositions. When someone opposes a cause, they often find themselves with new supporters. There seems to be a fascination with negativity and bad news. It's just a Nigerian thing , and it's no surprise that many online commentators eagerly follow the latest trends.
My advice to our president is to pay less attention to these distractions and keep focusing on the positive work he has begun. Our economy is starting to recover, and I believe that Tinubu will be a successful president, as do many sensible Nigerians. We won't be swayed by power-hungry politicians seeking appointments or creating confusion.

UNIMAID to Muhammadu Buhari University is still part of state burial? Or wanting to score cheap political point? There's is Federal University in his town opened during his administration and the building of the university was funded by his administration. Won't that be the best to rename after him?

APC deserves all the gbas gbos . They politicised all most everything when they are the opposition party in 2014.

The way APC criticised PDP and later become a wicked useless anti progressive party, that is the way ADC will turn out to be a useless, wicked and anti masses party because the same people who messed up this country in APC are the people jumping to ADC .

No same Nigerian should vote for APC, PDP or ADC .

If you support any of these parties and their candidates, it means something is wrong with your head and you don't even know it.

Is Tinubu still pleased that all opposition parties are in disarray? I don't think so. He's been running from pillar to post the past few days and throwing appointments at the Northerners. The arrogance is now gone!

The drama about elections with almost 2 solid years left before we cross that bridge, is a bad omen.
Now all the energy of the present government has been diverted towards politicking.
What about the empowerment programme Shettima launched a few weeks ago?
Is it now in voicemail? I suspect that this turmoil was generated just so that they would not implement it.
Shior!

Wike knows Tinubu wants to make him irrelevant.

In 2023, when the fight started and impeachment came, Wike wanted to impeach SIM but Tinubu made peace, many people thought the peace was against SIM but that peace deal bought SIM time to gather more supporters and conduct local govt election, solidifying his grip on the structure.
That peace deal gave Wike temporary power but SIM won in the long run, Tinubu played neutrality when Wike was fighting for his political structure not to be demolished.

Fast forward to 2025, the fight was over and Wike wanted to impeach SIM again, but Tinubu who was neutral all these time declared state of emergency, saving SIM one more time and weakening Wike.

Abuja Job is not Wike's ultimate goal cos he could be fired anyday, Wike knows if Tinubu wasn't there, SIM would have been removed and the smoke would have died a long time ago

Atiku went there and was busy basking in the adulation of an unsuspecting, you could see him waving at the crowd. Was that what he went there for? The next day, Obi visited and was soliciting the support or Ahmed Bashir. Now who is playing politics?
There's nothing serious about these opposition at all.
