In as much the federal government has the right to change their own sponsored institution, but sometimes they need to be applying wisdom in doing things. Some things in life like humans, banks, corporation, industries has branded names that has stayed for long and known globally. Altering them sometimes looks somehow.
For example as a Man United fan I rmbr how Anthony Martial who has branded himself with AM9 felt so unhappy when the no9 was taking from him and giving to Ibrahimovic.
Immediately Ibrahimovic left, he quickly collected his number back. That is how a brand is important to individuals and Institutions.
As a club if you want to sign Ronaldo now, be ready to give him his no7 or no deal. So Tinubu got this one wrong. And I understand they're institution in Katsina which Tinubu could have named after Buhari but he didn't do that and that's wrong of him.
All this trying to score cheap political goals won't help him. He should listen to voice of reasoning and reverse his decision that's if pride will let him.

The international airport in Maiduguri, the Senate Building in University of Maiduguri, the Trauma Center in the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, a secondary school are all named after Buhari in Maiduguri. A female hostel in University of Maiduguri is named after Aisha Buhari.

Yet PBAT felt the smartest thing to do is rename the whole University after this same person. Very ill informed decision. Aside the UNIMAID community, the indigenes of Borno are groaning because of this.

You are the funny one. ASUU does not own any University. The University belongs to Federal Government and they have a right to give it any name. I don't see the point of the agitation. It's misplaced and unnecessary
