The Player of the Competition for WAFCON 2024 hasn't been officially announced yet, but there are some standout players who've made a huge impact throughout the tournament. Top Contenders include
- Esther Okoronkwo: She's had an incredible tournament, with one goal and four assists, including a Player of the Match performance against Tunisia.
- Rasheedat Ajibade: She's been named in the Group Stage Best XI and was Woman of the Match against Botswana.
- Ashleigh Plumptre: She's also been named in the Group Stage Best XI and has been rock-solid in defense for Nigeria.

But another standout young player is Ghana's Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, who's been captivating fans with her flair, strength, and sharp attacking instincts. Her masterclass against Tanzania helped Ghana secure a crucial 4-1 win and book their spot in the quarterfinals .

The top goal scorers in WAFCON 2024 are currently
Ghizlane Chebbak from Morocco and
Nguenar Ndiaye from Senegal, both with 4 goals each. They're leading the pack, followed closely by Zambia's Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji, who have 3 goals each. Nigeria's Chiwendu Ihezuo is also in the mix with 2 goals and is still in contention for the Golden Boot.

Nigeria vs South Africa in the semi. This is a derby match which we must win. I really like our friendly competition with the likes of SA, Ghana and Cameroon.

For this competition, Ghana and Nigeria are one because of West Africa Factor. Ghanaians were happy for Nigeria beating Zambia 5-0 because they are from Southern part of Africa, and in particular, their former coach switching side.
