FIFA will just be doing anyhow all in the name of trying to be the godfather of football.
UCL started as an 8 team tournament that was first named Uefa Champions cup, within years they have increased the numbers of participants and eventually changed the name to Uefa Champions league. From 8 that started participating till now 36 clubs. The trophy hasn't changed neither do they not still recognize the previous winners.

FIFA club world cup started as an International cup competition between South America champions and UEFA champions and they have been trophies on offer. FIFA hijacked the tournament and renamed it CWC in 2000 and making it all continent showpiece by making it 7 participants. They have been winners ever since then with the winners wearing a gold plated FIFA badge for the next one year.
And in this year tourney you expanded it to 32 teams with still the name CWC but with a new trophy.
So why will they now say the past winners shouldn't be recognized? When they changed the FIFA world cup trophy from the Jules rimet own to the present one, was the former winners not recognize? Me think FIFA is confused.

That is how they and France football magazine has got so many people confused that most people think Michael Owen, Pavel Nedved and Shevchenko has actually won the world footballers of the year with their balon'dor wins not knowing it was for European footballer of the year.
Anyways it's their game and anyhow they like let them administer it but it won't stop and erase the fact that those other clubs has won the CWC before bcus it was actually named that and not Intercontinental cup.
My humble take.

What will be the fate of Assnal now? To win the outdated trophy na big problem and even bigger problem to win this new one. A cursed club, I recon

CWC can never be bigger than the UCL....its harder to win UCL than to win CWC ....

It should be much bigger than UCL now that the tournament would be helded every 4 years.
