My uncle told me today that kings eat kings to become kings.
This is better pronounced in Yoruba language.
So at this time it is secured from being accessed by traditionalists.

I don't think this will stop them if atal they want access to his body.. spiritual things go beyond physical barriers.
You guys should be worried for the muslim clerics that messed with those traditionalists.. Ijebu of all places.

Does this mean there will be no new king ? The king has to be eaten na

They will still get the heart and eat it.
It's their culture and tradition.
The late monarch can't be an exception.
Why sit on the throne when you can't be the custodian of their cultural heritage!

You could have escaped all these wahala if you had turned down their kingship.

You were crowned by traditionalists as king, but want to be buried according to Islam.

Why didn’t the spiritual things bypass the army during the burial, abi Nigerian soldiers are not physical barriers?

What a tradition. Still living in stone age. Masquerade coming to take the body away to cook and eat or rebury which one.

Yes kings eat kings literally to become king.
Not the whole body though. A specific part will be cut frm the dead king and cooked or eaten raw by the incoming king.

That king they buried up there with 'fortification' has been tampered with. Its just . media show.

The dead king also ate part of the former king. So his flesh will also be taken. Its tradition ad would require some ruthless means to stop it.

I wouldn't know.. maybe the traditionalists out of respect for the late monarch decided to play cool.
The muslims are trying to usurp the Ijebu tradition, soon the clerics will want to be appointing kings for Ijebu people but let's see if the people of Ijebuland will allow that.

I read a book long time ago. I can't remember the name again but it deals with Metaphysics and how religion and tradition inter connect. So in the book, it talked about symbolism such as the eating of bread and drinking of wine which symbolizes eating the body and drinking blood of Jesus Christ.

The author sited examples which are such a connected representation.

Is it safe to assume that they cannot be another legitimate Awujale until the new King eats his heart?

Can they hide body from the spirit?

Naa his spirit go even open the gate for them without key, except God interfere.

Grave robbers can easily tunnel into the grave and carry the atrocities they want to.

If there are active threats against the grave, simply transfer the remains and bury it in an unmarked secret grave. Use this "fortified" grave as decoy.

I think the details of traditional burial rites should also be revealed. It would enrich our cultural library. Aspects that are archaic like burying with human beings and eating of hearts (if true) should be abolished.

African Traditions Sha.. for me as long as the king ate his predecessor.. den it's trite same is done to him.. Africans should stop mixing local traditions with foreign religions.. if the late Awujale didn't subscribe to this barbaric practices..he should have rejected the stool and refuse to be crowned cool
