Peter Obi has been saying Nigeria should be more like Bangladesh.

After seeing the short video below of the terrible transport system in Bangladesh, it occurred to me that perhaps Obi does not mean well for this country.

It is parts of northern Nigeria that reduce the average wealth and living standards of the population when you average it out.

Southern Nigeria’s GDP per capita is higher than Bangladesh by far.

Closer to Brazil and Indonesia.

For instance the GDP per capita of Lagos state is nearly $7000 while that of Bangladesh is $2,500.

Even Imo state, Edo, Anambra, Oyo, etc have a GDP per capita of $3000+.
