Good evening, Nairalanders. Hope your day is going well. I applied for a job with a Canadian company and received a link to my email where I was asked to do their virtual multiple-choice quiz of 40 questions in 30 minutes. When it comes to such tests, I am always good at them because I am a versatile reader. After the test, I got feedback from them that I was successful and that I was among the top 1% in the test. Afterwards, I was asked to select a date for my virtual interview. I had the interview and I believe I did well. The HR told me she would get back to me within 1 - 2 weeks. However, it's been 3 weeks now and I sent them an email to ask for an update but they didn't reply to my email. Please if you were in my shoes, what would you do? I am creating this post because it's a foreign company and the pay is very juicy. |

ImpartialGuy:You’ve done your part very well — aced the test, showed up prepared for the interview, and even followed up professionally. That already puts you in a good position. But here’s the truth about foreign companies (and even local ones): delays happen — sometimes due to internal approvals, budget constraints, or HR being swamped. It doesn’t always mean rejection. Here’s what I’d advise: 1. Give it one more week – sometimes replies come in the 4th or even 5th week. 2. Send a polite second follow-up – just a short message to reaffirm your interest and ask if there are any updates on the role. 3. Continue applying elsewhere – don’t pause your job hunt waiting on one role, no matter how juicy it looks. Let this one surprise you. And lastly, even if they don’t come through, remind yourself that making it to the top 1% is a big deal. Keep showing up with that same energy — something better might be around the corner. Stay sharp, you’re doing great already. 👏🏽 |

They will reach out to you. Be patient. Also, you can check some of their staff on LinkedIn to talk to them about things. Good luck. |

Tenrack:Thank you, everyone, for all your words of encouragement. Well, I saw the job on Hot Nigerian Jobs. The truth is that there are many foreign jobs for Nigerians posted on that site and My Job Mag too. While awaiting their feedback, I also applied for one - Lafiya. The salary for the first 6 months is $1500. After the 6 months, you get a significant pay rise. The application came with a virtual test too. I'm waiting for their feedback too. |

Keep targeting those foreign jobs until you get one. Don't let anything discourage you. Move on fast from anyone that doesn't work. |

Don't send reminder email again. Allow their process. Be ready for anything whether it will be positive or negative. Don't put your 100% expectations . That's what cause depression sometimes. I sincerely pray it favours u. |
