Anioma are 💯 ready to be South East 6th state. If they don't want to be indentified as Igbos as there are other minor ethnic groups within the area, it is still good... The 6 states of South South don't speak one language and are not from one Ethnic group

Sapele or Abraka should warm up as the new capital of Delta state

The creation will come with an additional state carved out from Akwa Ibom while two more States will be carved out from the West I.e Ondo and Ogun State.
Watch out.

Adding anioma state to the south east to balance the regional imbalance makes more sense and gives the anioma state agitation more credibility but unfortunately many anioma people are still scared of joining the east they actually scared of another biafra war breaking out in nigeria where they will be massacred again just like in the first biafra war.

Creating a new state comes with a lot of political opportunities like getting more nass members, ministers and ambassador it brings more development to abandoned communities because of the creation of more local govt areas. Hope u also know the uhrobos have presented a bill for the creation of ethiope state which has just passed second reading where will that now leave the anioma people?

delta state is not a tribe but a geopolitical zone and we the igbos indegineous to delta and edo is large enough to have our own state that is why the anioma state is created to bring the igbos in delta and edo to join there brothers across the river

Who told you states in the south-east are not being run well!? And are you talking based on the premise that states in other regions are being run well!? The states of Enugu, Abia and Anambra are being run relatively well! Don’t judge governance in the south-east based on the visionless and APC imposed gov’ts in Imo and Ebonyi!

dont mind those pretending they are 4rm anioma's opposing the new state, they are either people suffering 4rm identity crisis, or benin people but we dont care we are all igbos and we must join our brothers in the east

Anioma is the most reasonable state to be added yo the SE. Certain persons over the years have allowed political sentiments to be loud their senses of reasoning. They have become so confused and ended up rejecting their blood and cultural identity of being Igbo people. Whether you choose to call yourself Ibo or Igbo, you are an Igbo person. If you choose to align with the strange political thoughts of being descendants of Nupe or Benin people, that’s your problem to figure out. The fact of the matter is that as long as you are from Delta north, you are by blood an Igbo person.

Boundary creations led to dividing Akoko Edo people between Edo and Ondo states. Their identity was not taken as they all relate as one. Boundary creation split Egbema people between Imo and Rivers states. Their identities remain the same. The same language, the same people. The same in other areas of the nation. One wonders why certain persons continue to live in illusion, thinking that Anioma state, a move which was started too many years ago, will not happen. All we are waiting for is the amendment of the constitution in December and then Anioma state will come alive finally. It will become the sixth state of the SE. It makes more sense than creating Adada, etc, out of the already existing states. Since we have Brother’s across the Niger in Delta north, it makes better sense to bring them all home. Let Emeka be Emeka and not pretend to be Osawaru, etc. Even the great citizens of Delta South and Central call those of Delta North Igbo people. So why all the political Wayo?
