Geopolitical zones are political creations, not tribal definitions. Anioma people are ethnically Igbo, regardless of being in South-South. Tribal identity is cultural and historical, not political. Confusing zones with ethnicity causes unnecessary division and misunderstanding among Nigerians.

What is the point of this anioma? Ned has gone to meet all his friends and promised them heaven and earth to support the creation. You can't manage the ones on ground yet you want to add another. Even if anioma is created, can the governor control the police? Won't the dwellers still face the same security issues? Anioma will become a South East State because it WILL become a South East state. You asking this question means you've never been to Delta State or anywhere close to onicha, otherwise you would have known that it's not far fetched to consider the Anioma part of Delta to be in the SE region.

The ABORIGINAL ANIOMA people DONT NEED this Eastern State aka ANIOMA State.... But why are the Easterners more interested in this State than the actual owners who ARE NOT Easterners?

For them to be interested in this State we know it's for their selfish gain. They lament on our behalf that we are marginalized by our blood from Urhobo, Isoko etc so they take advantage. They lament too on behalf of Igbanke people that the Edo people are marginalizing them.

If development isn't coming to ANIOMA or Igbanke people it is more on those who claim they are representing us but doing nothing about bringing ACTUAL development to our lands.

One oga allegedly from Enugu ( dad)with Idumuje-UGboko( mum) has only ANIOMA State as his pet project for us apart from promoting his private university, not that he is offering scholarships( partial/ full) to the aboriginals who voted him. It may be best for him to be a Senator or Governor in his father's Enugu land when this his IMAGINARY ANIOMA State hits the rocks.

Most of Asaba is in Anioma. Igbo is the native dialect spoken in Asaba, it's only those who have never travelled out of their enclave all their lives would be wondering how this could work.

You know very well that land mass is not considered when configuring federating units like states in a Federation of diverse regions.

Anioma is the most reasonable state to be added yo the SE. Certain persons over the years have allowed political sentiments to be loud their senses of reasoning. They have become so confused and ended up rejecting their blood and cultural identity of being Igbo people. Whether you choose to call yourself Ibo or Igbo, you are an Igbo person. If you choose to align with the strange political thoughts of being descendants of Nupe or Benin people, that’s your problem to figure out. The fact of the matter is that as long as you are from Delta north, you are by blood an Igbo person.

Boundary creations led to dividing Akoko Edo people between Edo and Ondo states. Their identity was not taken as they all relate as one. Boundary creation split Egbema people between Imo and Rivers states. Their identities remain the same. The same language, the same people. The same in other areas of the nation. One wonders why certain persons continue to live in illusion, thinking that Anioma state, a move which was started too many years ago, will not happen. All we are waiting for is the amendment of the constitution in December and then Anioma state will come alive finally. It will become the sixth state of the SE. It makes more sense than creating Adada, etc, out of the already existing states. Since we have Brother’s across the Niger in Delta north, it makes better sense to bring them all home. Let Emeka be Emeka and not pretend to be Osawaru, etc. Even the great citizens of Delta South and Central call those of Delta North Igbo people. So why all the political Wayo?

Even the 5 states are still not being managed well..
Small landmass and huge FAAC, still everywhere looks like a mess.

5 governor, over 40 house of rep members, and 15 senators can't fix or manage a region that is not more than Oyo state in size.

If we go according to the parable of the talents in the bible, the existing 5 should actually reduce.

SW looks messier than SE when you compare rural to urban development, nothing in any part of SW impresses me except few places in Lagos, which is possible because of its status as former capital city. SW cities are not well planned and always look delapitated, keep deceiving yourself with exaggerated igr without anything to show for it
