Popowaa:You have a good financial profile, which is a solid foundation. While lack of travel history can raise concerns, it doesn’t always lead to refusal. Just ensure your documents clearly show strong ties to Nigeria and genuine intent to return. There’s no guarantee, especially since many Nigerians with similar profiles have overstayed or claimed asylum but it’s still worth trying if your purpose is genuine. |

bcolat21:Good day everyone. So I'm here for advice, the visa above was denied and the reason they gave for the denial made no sense. The purpose of visit was to attend their child and brother's wedding. 2 parents and 2 siblings aged between 19 and 25 were invited with 59 year old parents. Denial reason - Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada. I have reviewed your temporary resident visa (visitor visa) application and supporting documentation to assess whether you meet the requirements for a visitor visa (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/ services/visit-canada/eligibility.html). This includes assessing whether you are coming to Canada temporarily for the reason(s) you describe in your application. I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/l-2.5/index.html) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/ index.html). I am refusing your application. • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-2271 section-179.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors: Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family members), if applicable). We really need the parents of the groom to attend the wedding as the bride to be's parents have been approved. What do you advise we do differently when reapply. The POF provided had over 70m for the 4 of them and they parents are well established back home which serves as ties. The siblings are also in school which are also good ties back home. What can increase their chances of approval for the wedding please since the wedding date has passed and wedding postponed cos of the denial? We included a lot of documents and explanations in the initial application that got denied such as : 1. Invitation letter from Couple ✔✅ 2. Letter of Purpose ✅ 3. Proof of Funds(Bank statement with almost #79M) 4. PGWP of inviters✔✅ 5. MP Declaration ✔✅ 6. Marriage License ✔✅ 7. Wedding IV✔✅ 8. Grooms dad leave letter from his workplace ✔️✅ 10. His parents and siblings information as ties home in Letter of purpose ✔️✅ 11. Proof of funds for 3 of them from dad 12. other ties Including his work and business he needs to get back to in LOP✔️✅ Please if anyone her has gotten approved for a wedding and can share tips. We won't mind. Thank you

bcolat21:the siblings doesn’t have to attend the wedding. He can try to add 1) accommodation arrangements for the parents 2) proof of funds in CAD for the parents from son 3) letter from bride with PR card to solidify the application Lastly, I hope the marriage is genuine and this family is not just using the innocent lady to get permanent stay in Canada. |

Omo. you people can talk o. That last line was purely unnecessary. You don't even know the couple and you're asking a question about the genuineness of their union? As much as people come here to ask for advise, let's learn to give advise and move on please. vhickky: |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by vhickky(f): 5:09pm On Jul 23, 2025 |
jayciekey:I said what I said.. deceiving people for papers is a common scourge now. For your family’s visa, follow the same advice I gave, you should get it approved. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by 1234jj: 5:20pm On Jul 23, 2025 |
vhickky:You are correct it's a reason why inland spousal sponsorship avg processing is 34 months now. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by jayciekey: 6:52pm On Jul 23, 2025 |
I am only saying let's stay out of people's business if they dont want us in their business. If they wanted you to advise them about the authenticity of their union they would have said it here. By the way, I wasnt the one who dropped the initial message. vhickky: |

uchennay:People just like giving all these embassy free money. Applying to many of these embassy from Nigeria now seems like a total waste of time and money eg Canada, USA, Ireland, Germany and many more |

You mean people are not getting visas at the moment? What could be the reasons for refusal? Anyway, there is no harm in trying. People just like giving all these embassy free money. Applying to many of these embassy from Nigeria now seems like a total waste of time and money eg Canada, USA, Ireland, Germany and many more[/quote] |

hayyawithme:Madam, the reason is simple with no previous travel history and traveling with 4 children as a visitor to canada you most likely to claim asylum like majority with similar profile does and not return back home but you can try to apply it ur money amd only harm is u lose ur money but it a good revenue to canada govt maybe start from uk, visa firstly |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by bcolat21(f): 4:35pm On Jul 24, 2025 |
The parents would stay with the couple. The siblings won't be on the application this time. Also, the Parents already provided 79M POF is POF in CAD still necessary. Initial application included the brides PR card and grooms PGWP Concerning your last statement, the wedding is genuine and the groom is working on his PR himself while dismissing suggestions from the bride to sponsor him, so it's not about that at all. It's even the fake weddings that rush without involving parents to speed up the process, they have been dating for about 2 years now. Thank you vhickky: |

jayciekey:Thank you, the marriage is nowhere near fake. People should know that not everyone out there is pressured about status, some people still have conscience and are willing to do it right 😊. |

1234jj:Wow, Is that why my cousin's processing is taking so long. 34 months that almost 3 years. By inland do you mean both partners in country or is this timeline is for one spouse abroad? |

| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by vhickky(f): 1:02am On Jul 25, 2025 |
bcolat21:great, attach 1)the tenancy agreement and state they would be staying with the couple to prove accommodation arrangements 2)yes they tend to believe proof of funds in CAD more, so the groom should show that as they are his parents and would be under his care. It doesn’t have to be much , 10k is more than enough for both of them. I am glad to hear the wedding is genuine, I wish them happy married life. |
