The money should have been used in investing in their football... such money can make their club side sign good players beyound the continent and maybe play club world cup one day and get the recognitions they want.

Mumu president with about 110 million people, meanwhile small rwanda of less than 20million population is actively sponsoring war against them and taking over communities. Richest country in terms of mineral countries , one of the poorest in the world.

Until Africa looks inward and use her resources to work itself out of the rut, it's going to be same story, every century.

70 billion naira equivalent can Jumpstart massive Research and Development drive that would prime up their wide assortment of natural minerals and resources for mining/exploration.

That Reanda did it with Arsenal doesn't mean it should be an all comers affairs.

if a country with the largest deposit of natural resources in the world yet still one of the poorest does not know its right from its left, is it by sponsoring Barcelona that it will now make progress just because Rwanda did it?

I'm thinking ... why would I want to visit that country? ... to see suffering? ... or exploitation?.. a paradise for nature lovers/explorers .....but is it safe? I can bet my life the money they will not get returns of a quarter of money spent on promotion. Country of the super rich and th sniper poor.

Don’t mind that one. Tourists? Even Europeans de reject tourists now. They say they only polute their environment with all sorts of strange vices and make property value plus cost of living too expensive for locals.

Africans are very very funny. See Congo that has been fighting internal and external wars since 1960 due to its natural resources that is up for grabs. Whichever u grab is yours. That even tiny Rwanda is arming and aiding Congolese rebels to fight so they can grab theirs. Even south send army there to go and protect the govt resources and grab theirs too while there.

Africans and inferiority complex

Taking billions of dollars and putting them behind Barcelona t-shirts isn't really gonna do anything to entice tourists to start visiting the DRC.

African leaders are just full of it.What DR Congo needs is more investment into national security and infrustructural development.

Everyone in the international community is aware of the internal conflicts in Congo and how long it has been going on for.It will take more than a putting your name behind some football club's jersey to make Congo a destination for tourists.
