It's a very expensive investment that will pay off.... eventually on the long run. Barcelona has millions of die-hard fans globally who will see the ads on their jerseys. |

gerrardomendes:You can't give what you don't have (intelligence), and you keep wondering why white men will see us as apes. Wha do you call a set of people that will take the money meant for development of their home to spend all alone in strange land with their families and associates. |

DR Congo is unwittingly putting the cart before the horse! It's like washing the backside of a soup plate while the bowl is dirty and ready to serve. Your country is yet to extricate itself from its ongoing security and other challenges which require urgent and critical attention but chose instead to wear "pancake" to the outside world. Warrapirri! Our so-called leaders for Africa dey ment! Walahi! @hotseat |

The money should have been used in investing in their football... such money can make their club side sign good players beyound the continent and maybe play club world cup one day and get the recognitions they want. |

Mumu president with about 110 million people, meanwhile small rwanda of less than 20million population is actively sponsoring war against them and taking over communities. Richest country in terms of mineral countries , one of the poorest in the world. Spend that freaking money to develop your military artillery stupd. |

Congos Current Annual Tourism revenue as at 2023 is 88 million dollars Rwanda its neighbour gets 448 million dollars If it work's, A lot of tourists and Westerners might come visiting or relocating bringing in dollars and transfer of knowledge and ideas Also many westerners might come there to retire due to cheaper cost of living At Face Vakue, it looks dumb On data Value, its a smart.move and brings more awareness about Congo which might lead to more visitors and more tourist revenue And more deals and more foreign investors Those clubs have the eyeballs of a lot of People. The targets of those adverts are digital nomads, adventure seekers which include both rich andnot rich onyibo foreigners, Other African Countries like Kenya South Africa Gambia And Rwanda its neighbour all generate a lot of revenue from the same foreign tourism Using this playbook to generate tourism.and relocation revenue is strategic when the data is put together Emirates airline did something similar. |

Laird:what transfer of knowledge will the tourists and westerners bring? if the government of DRC cannot use it natural minerals to bring in dollars, is it tourists and westerners that it will use to bring in dollars? why do you think Rwanda attracts tourists? if Rwanda had half of the natural resources in the congo, do you think it will be waiting for tourists? how many westerners brought knowledge to Iran and china that made it possible for them to build most of the things they use themselves? |

Whoever approved this deal had mashed potatoes between his/her ears. Until Africa looks inward and use her resources to work itself out of the rut, it's going to be same story, every century. 70 billion naira equivalent can Jumpstart massive Research and Development drive that would prime up their wide assortment of natural minerals and resources for mining/exploration. That Reanda did it with Arsenal doesn't mean it should be an all comers affairs. I really pity Africa under these uninspired leadership. |

I'm thinking ... why would I want to visit that country? ... to see suffering? ... or exploitation?.. a paradise for nature lovers/explorers .....but is it safe? I can bet my life the money they will not get returns of a quarter of money spent on promotion. Country of the super rich and th sniper poor. |

Africans are very very funny. See Congo that has been fighting internal and external wars since 1960 due to its natural resources that is up for grabs. Whichever u grab is yours. That even tiny Rwanda is arming and aiding Congolese rebels to fight so they can grab theirs. Even south send army there to go and protect the govt resources and grab theirs too while there. Congo is sponsoring Barcelona. I laugh in Japanese |

Taking billions of dollars and putting them behind Barcelona t-shirts isn't really gonna do anything to entice tourists to start visiting the DRC. African leaders are just full of it.What DR Congo needs is more investment into national security and infrustructural development. Everyone in the international community is aware of the internal conflicts in Congo and how long it has been going on for.It will take more than a putting your name behind some football club's jersey to make Congo a destination for tourists. |
