The 2023 vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said that his partner, Peter Obi, is free to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 presidential election with or without him as a running mate, saying “We want capacity. We want compassion. We want people who will develop Nigeria, leaders that matter, leaders that deliver promises, not those who will promise governance and deliver disaster.” 

Explaining Obi’s involvement in the ADC Coliation, Baba-ahmed explained that the former Governor of Anambra’s state ’s connection with the coalition, on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, was not an anti-party activity but an unfolding situation.

In his words, “This is not an anti-party activity. It is an unfolding situation. The meaning of a coalition is that political parties, interest groups, and individuals are coming together. It’s an unfolding situation.

Datti should leave LP for Abure and Wike. That party is too small to win a presidential election in a country where INEC is not truly independent. If ADC wins, they will make him the Minister of Education so he can transform the ministry.

To my mind Datti is playing a game. He understands Obi is a forefront of the coalition and can't be looking back except if the codes are violated. So the idea of attending Abure's faction of LP am sure is a surprise to them.

Obi is just looking for free ticket, he doesn't want to participate in primary election and he was busy claiming good democrat

He should go asap.
I'm even surprised that AA and all the so-called heavy-weights in that coalition could really cope with this high level of non-commitment

I'm sure APC don't even understand this coalition

Something tells me the obvious disorganization is really a trick to doge APC

There is no how u can agree on a coalition without agreeing who to fly the ticket

Obi should believe this only if he is not smart, and I will be surprised because most igbos that I know are usually smart, that's why they do exploit all over the world
He would have given people enough reasons for him lose the election and possibly his political career

Tinubu's supporters over estimate him. The fact that he has deep pocket and can go to any length to win doesn't make him the best political tactician. He is a good political strategist, no doubt. But this coalition is confusing even "confusion" itself.

It’s funny when Obi supporters try to ascribe to him some political intelligence that he was never known to possess .

The game is obvious . He’s never flying the ADC ticket for obvious reasons
