arantess:Have you tarred bad road before? If you're industrialist, you should generate your own power to avoid high Tariffs, power isn't cheap anywhere? Have you refined your own fuel, before? Security is a collective effort, if you don't play your own part, you'll expose yourself to insecurity. That's great, your money is being used to better your life-School/education, Hospital/health, good roads and transport sector ,your import dependent lifestyle! |

specialmati:How many cows or goats are you resting in your village, tinubu Should also subsidise meat is what I am sure you would say as solution......I for one still do not understand how beef that we rear locally with subsistent techniques and free grass with cheap fodder can be so expensive,we need to rethink our food production and distribution systems.....I have since learned to wean myself off red meat, would rather fish or eggs. |

Tinubu himself is not gaining weight as well as Remi. That speaks volumes about the state of the economy of the Nation. |

helinues:Pastorialist (fulanis) are 95 percent owners of cattles in Nigeria, what do you think the southerners can do about that figure? In the west there is high rate of tsetse fly not good for animals wellbeing. The west has alot of grass but won't meet dry matter requirement, they must add concentrates which the north has most of its raw materials. The southerners are not good with animal husbandry as many of them are chasing books and not farm . |

ogododo:For those asking why transporting cattle to the southern part of Nigeria is very expensive, here are the key factors to consider: 1. Number of Cattle per Truck/Trailer: The cost depends on how many cattle the truck or trailer can carry. Fewer animals mean higher transport costs per head. 2. Revenue and Levies: There are multiple government and local government levies collected along the way, which increase the total expenses. 3. Animal Caretakers (Dan Wajus): Someone must be assigned to travel with the animals to feed, water, and care for them throughout the journey. These caretakers, known as Dan Waju in Hausa, are also paid for their service. 4. Checkpoint Challenges: There are many checkpoints along the road, and each one can come with delays, demands, or informal payments, which contribute to the overall cost. 5. Risk Factors: The journey comes with risks such as accidents, theft, animal injuries, or even death, which transporters must factor into their pricing. |
