The agreement was set—until an unexpected visitor arrived. A man named Dr. Emmanuel Ogechukwu Obi stormed into the school, claiming to be an official from the Federal Ministry of Health, Asaba. In a shocking presentation, he declared: "Noodles are dangerous, and Tummy Tummy’s factory has been shut down by the government for unsafe practices!" The school, alarmed, immediately canceled Mrs. Chima’s contract and sent Mrs. Chima this fateful message:

"Good evening ma'am. Hope you are doing great. A man from the Federal Ministry of Health came to our school yesterday (Wednesday) for sensitization. While making his presentation, he mentioned to us that Tummy Tummy noodles production has been stopped by the government due to some unhealthy practices in their factory. I just discovered that it's the same noodles that you are bringing on graduation day to sell."

TUMMY-TUMMY INVESTIGATES THE CLAIM

Tummy Tummy Foods, a reputable company in Nnewi, Anambra State was blindsided. Their noodles were fully approved by NAFDAC, and no government agency had ever flagged them. Suspecting foul play, the company took the following steps:

- Contacted the Delta State Ministry of Health, which confirmed that no "Dr. Emmanuel Obi" worked there.
- Hired a private investigator, who traced Obi’s phone number (08091984546) to Onitsha, Anambra State, proving he was an impostor.
- Reached out to NAFDAC, which confirmed that Obi had no affiliation with them and that Tummy Tummy’s products were legally registered.

The Legal Battle Begins

Furious, Tummy Tummy’s executives engaged Onyechi Ononye & Co., a law firm, to file a formal police petition. The allegations against Obi included:

- Impersonation (posing as a government official).
- Defamation (false claims damaging the company’s reputation).
- Economic Sabotage (costing the company contracts and revenue).

The petition, addressed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 13, Anambra State, demanded an urgent investigation.

Official Denials & Confirmation of Fraud

- Delta State Ministry of Health, in a letter dated November 1, 2023, confirmed in writing that Obi was not their staff and had no authority to represent them.
- NAFDAC (Anambra Office), in a letter dated October 24, 2023, disowned Obi, stating they had no relationship with him and advised Tummy Tummy to pursue legal action against the perpetrators.

Tummy Tummy Foods has noted with concern that a video/audio clip containing the same false allegations from 2023 is being recirculated on social media by some mischief makers. I don't take noodles nor like it, but the very first 20 seconds into that viral audio. I knew the guy was a crazy lair and malicious alarmist. The manner and frequency he used the words "banned", you know immediately that thus one is another lai Mohammed

This also goes to influencers who spoils people's business without proper verification. The woman is also looking for her daily bread. 😞

They should pursue legal action without delay. This is deliberate sabotage; and for a stupid reason too. I mean, over noodles to be sold at a graduation party?? Come on!

Tummy Tummy has been in business for long. It used to be my favorite noodles brand, back in my uni days in 2010 because of the veggies includes in the packaging. Quite nice

What is the meaning of that "HALAL" with the sign? I have seen the writing and sign on many products, especially noddles. It seems kind of arabic too. I will like to know what it means.

But why are people this wicked? Why sabotaging a fellow man's business? He should go to the full extent of the law to deal with those sabotaging his biz and also go the unorthodox way too.

Tummy Tummy must petition the DSS. Everyone behind this serious crime, including their collaborators on this thread, will be fished out, prosecuted and jailed.

Tummy Tummy can leave that toxic business environment and invest elsewhere since the Anambra State Government is leaving the whole fight to them. They must not give up until justice is served

This thing happened to Indomie noodles around 19, 20 years ago. Baseless false rumours that Indomie noodles were killing people in various parts of Nigeria.
That was when the notorious monopolist wanted to introduce his own noodles into the market.

This company needs to make a scapegoat of its traducers.

Tummy Tummy will not take laws into its own hands because of a group of criminals and their collaborators. Incidentally, they are all Anambra State people just like the Erisco case too. Yet Anambra State Government is quiet, giving room for enablers to give subtle threats to a company pursuing its legitimate rights.

the noodles is in the market everywhere in the SW. Stop trying to demarket it because it's produced in Anambra state. The noodles is very tasty and rich because it contains vegetables like carrots. Go and eat it and you'll forever hate indomie that is tasteless unless you add additional spices
