Multichoice has finally dumped their failing business on an unsuspecting French company. Multichoice staffers will be smiling all the way to the bank now. I hope the French media company did their due diligence before acquiring Multichoice and that they have a solid strategy for rescuing the company |

Power move!!! DSTv as a Multichoice brand is sinking. It's in their best interest to let go. All I need is a separate sports package like their Canal+ Sports please!!! Between Netflix and Amazon Prime, movie needs are adequately covered. |

Africans are already dumping DSTV as their whole package is just like a scam. For this new owner to make profits, they need to first listen to complain of their customers. Only sport channels make sense on Dstv. The news media are full of gossip. Their documentaries and movies are as old as Noah |

Be careful here Canal + is owned by a far right xenophobe Bolloré with colonialist mindset who made his money stealing from Francophone countries and hates Africans at the same time His news channels in France are used by Canal + to spread xenophobic and hate content 24 hours on news TV in France They also love increasing subscription prices every year This transaction effectively creates an African media monopoly Vis a vis content creators/owners (football leagues, movie studios music and film producers or labels) and also a Monopoly vis a vis customers via exclusive distribution rights That this transaction was allowed to pass is befuddling These guys are here to spread far right propaganda in Africa and to make money via Monopoly |

SmartPolician:I'm sure they have their own plans and strategies on how to rescue the company because it will only take someone with good future plans to spend that large of money in buying a company whose downfall is obvious, one thing I can see is that the company has gain ground in Africa unlike starting a new company that will take years to become popular like multi choice, that is a stepping stone for the new owner |
