most Yoruba people don't know Peter Edochie just like I don't expect all Igbos to know Jide Kosoko even though he acted English movies... The fact that you don't know him does not mean you shouldn't give him the respect he deserve. Even though Chief Edochie is a legend, some people know him through his controversial son. In Nigeria you can't dispute the fact that before , we all face our tribe men films and don't give a Bleep about others until recently when they start this their episode films. Even me, I started acting before the colonization of Africa. I could remember myself and Mungo Park going sailing to pick Christopher Columbus around Spanish Yard off the cost of Spain. I remember Abraham Lincoln and my brother going to the forest to shoot pigeons..... It's a long long time. Adolf Hitler was my good friend..... 🤣🤣🤣

Yorùbá has been in the Theatre and movie industry much longer than any other tribe in this country.. possibly in West Africa.
Yoruba have been pioneers long before certain cretins crawled out from caves and forests.
However , the Igbos have made a name for themselves as well, mostly in production and marketing..that's why they seem to dominate, whereas in quality of film.. the Yoruba have it hands down..
Nollywood didn't start with Living in Bindage.
That's what the Igbo would have you believe.
It's been around way longer. Check out any Igbo actor/actress that cut their teeth in the 80s and 90s..it was thru government financed soap operas and tv series. Yorùbá have been acting movies , comedies, dramas and plays independent from Govt patronage since the 60s.
By that logic..it's obvious Yoruba have more veteran actors and actresses ..
The Great Pete Edochie is a great actor..easily putting 40+ years in the business but we have others clocking 60+.
Let's give honor to whoever is due.

That's how these people who condemned the Agulu man 20 years ago, now repackage him telling us he is the best thing after sliced bread. Thank God internet never forgets. That's false. He started before Pete edochie but doesn't mind using him as a success parameter. Nollywood is an industry. When you talk about the first nollywood movie, you talk about it in commercial sense which Living in bondage made. This is the reason you don't know about any other home videos made prior to that. There were some movies in the East before living in bondage. Those ones are not considered. It's always these people from the west that measures d*ck. Never allow bigots who think nothing except tribalism, whose incompetence collapsed Netflix and Amazon prime, revise movie making history for us.
