Yeahh it was easier for him to stay at Athletic Bilbao. He doesn't wanna take any risk nor try something new. He wants to stay close to his familiar surroundings, close to his family and loved ones.

Besides, Athletic Bilbao are paying him crazily good money as well. I hear it is more than 10m euros after tax. So, he gets all these money guaranteed for the next 10 years. So it is now obvious he is going to stay there until he retires because no other big club is going to match that amount of money unless he becomes too good with his game, which I don't see how.
