PDP Crisis: Let’s Not Abandon A Ship In Need Of Repairs – Saraki Begs by iwaeda(op): 10:27am On Jul 24, 2025
Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has appealed to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to give up on the party amid its current internal crisis, urging them to stay united and committed to rebuilding the platform.

Saraki made the call in a heartfelt statement shared via his official Facebook page on Wednesday, following his participation in a PDP Consultative Conference convened by one of the party’s founding fathers, Professor Jerry Gana.

“It was an honour to join the Founding Fathers and stakeholders of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, today at the Consultative Conference,” Saraki wrote.

The former Senate President emphasized the PDP’s legacy of national growth, noting that during its 16-year rule, Nigeria rose to become Africa’s largest economy and achieved a stronger sense of unity.

“Let’s not abandon a ship in need of repairs. If you must leave, let it be on ideology—not anger,” Saraki urged. “The ultimate goal must be to put Nigeria first and rise above the propaganda designed to divide us as a party.”

He commended Professor Gana for rallying party stakeholders for what he described as a “family meeting,” and reaffirmed his personal commitment to the PDP, saying he would never give up on the party.

“The PDP was built on solid foundations. Its founders handed it over to us with trust. God forbid that we become the generation that lets it fall apart,” Saraki stated. “I urge all true patriots of the PDP to agree that for the greater good of Nigeria, leaving is not an option.”

Did you say this when Wike abandoned it and still destroyed it internally?

By 2027, PDP will either come distant 3rd or even 4th cos I am not seeing any state they can conveniently win

Pdp is dead and buried. You guys allowed your greed to kill it then allowed wikes avarice to bury it.
If you crooks that fled to join APC had allowed Jonathan fo his second term we will not be in this mess. Your ambition made you join forces with devils that have now wrecked the country.

PDP is finished with Wike dictating its affairs. If those in the party maintain its Wike link with APC, more people will abandon the umbrella.

They all kept quiet for a long time when few others were doing their thing (one leg in one leg out), but until now that it's crystal clear that the ones who stayed will leave (are leaving) to find a new path.

Re: PDP Crisis: Let’s Not Abandon A Ship In Need Of Repairs – Saraki Begs by ALISMILE(m): 10:51am On Jul 24, 2025
The problem of PDP is Atiku
The man is too selfish and self centered, and lacks leadership skills.
I doubt he knows what leadership really means

The way to go for PDP is for loyal members of the party to pick up the ruins and start rebuilding.

if pdp is a ship in need of repairs, then saraki is one of the saboteurs who caved in the hull

pdp is simply a vehicle for their ambitions and they will abando0n it once they see fit

Yes PDP was around when there was oil boom but unfortunately they mismanaged the prosperity through misappropriation and looting.

I grew up in the north, Kano state to be precised, and there's this thing I observed about northerners: "You see that thing you want to destroy, they'll help you in destroy it beyond repair, and later abandon you to face it all by yourself".

See who dey talk , you forgot so soon the manner and way you left this same PDP during GEJ period?
Re: PDP Crisis: Let’s Not Abandon A Ship In Need Of Repairs – Saraki Begs by Hemanwel(m):
Saraki, my man! I dey pay a 100% attention whenever you speak because you nor dey do cho cho cho like others.

But sir, we must be truthful to ourselves. Wike has openly stated categorically that he would work for Tinubu's victory in 2027. At the same time, he seems to not want to renounce his membership of PDP. He wants to use both the APC and the PDP structures in Rivers State and probably in Abuja to ensure victory for Tinubu. Why would anyone still remain with him in such party? Since you guys have refused to suspend him for his anti-party activities, it's better everyone leaves him there .

The last man standing, that’s the irony of PDP. When Sariki and Atiku left PDP to spite Jonathan, they never knew they were digging their own “grave”. Welcome to reality, time once again is a revealer, so many people today are committing the same blunder of the NPDP, by 2030, we all look back and reflect how our actions and inactions took Nigeria to where it will be by then.

NPDP arrow heads are now politically struggling.

Atiku Abubakar
Sariki
Rotimi Amaechi
Dino Melaye
Tambuwal

Everyone will be ok at the end of the day, we are all living on borrowed time, use it wisely.
