Yusuf Datti has declared his intentions to run under the LP as their substantive candidate for the 2027 Presidential elections. He made this declaration before the authentic court recognised Abure leadership and not before the usurper SE faction . Datti has now realized that Obi is hell bent on being Atiku's running mate under ADC . Datti's declaration to contest the LP ticket is a declaration of his resentment towards Obi and the Umuahi faction. Note that the only reason for the Umuahi faction is to ensure Abure is ousted so as to pave the way for an automatic ticket for Obi. Obi and his usurper gang in the self declared interim NWC know Obi can not win a free and fair primary because outside the Umuahi SE faction , Obi has no support from other LP national delegates. Datti knows he can't win the Presidential elections but he is hell bent on repaying Obi's horse trading by ensuring that the LP ticket does not go to Obi. Obi is very cunning and has a well recorded legacy of betraying members of his own party for his selfish inordinate ambition. Recall how Obi was caught on a hot mic incidence telling them Governor Wike to allow him win Rivers Presidential elections in exchange of Wike producing the Governor . Do you think the LP gubernatorial candidate will be happy with that? As for Datti , he knows he has been ditched by Obi who now prefers to be Atiku's running mate under the ADC. But can Atiku clinch the ADC ticket with the cabal now fully entrenched and all out to produce Amaechi as their flag bearer? All in all, it's a big loss to Obi and Datti is now the latest individual to dump the Obidient camp. |

You're right. Datti's move against Obi is to sabotage him and potentially inherit Obidients for his future ambition. He knows he'll stand no chance in the coalition. His song of "Southern turn" alias "Tinubu turn" is just to spin a narrative against Obi if agrees to deputise Atiku. |

Datti is a Tinubu boy |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by DomPerignon(op): 10:03am On Jul 24, 2025 |
AMINDA:From all indications, the ADC Presidential ticket will go to Amaechi with El Rufai as his running mate. PDP might go for a northerner in the form of Bala Mohammed to sweep up northern votes but this won't translate well in the south. Amaechi will do very well in the NW and Bala Mohammed will do well in the NE. Tinubu will get the constitutional requirement in the north but will win the NC, SS and SW hands down. SE votes will be the most scattered as they will vote Amaechi , Bala and anyone LP produces . The region will be insignificant . Tinubu will win by a slim margin but a win is still a win. |

DomPerignon:South East has never voted along party lines. They vote personalities. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by richmond500: 11:15am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Beautifulday:SE votes based on tribalism and not personalities. Because how does Atiku suddenly become a bad person in 2023 when he was good in 2019? How does Obi suddenly become the messiah to save Nigerians when Anambrans all agreed he was a disaster? It was obvious this isn't about the person but who carries the Igbo agenda more, they will want to hide it under personality but we know it's not |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Switruth: 11:18am On Jul 24, 2025 |
DomPerignon:South East vote amechi ke. Amechi wey talk say him no be ibo. You think say those ppl na mumu? If obi no come out as flag bearer South East will vote Tinubu. That's the style of their politics. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by AMINDA: 11:18am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Beautifulday:Not true. Since 1999, Southeast voted PDP in a one-way traffic irrespective of candidate until 2023 when Obi left to contest solo. Atiku's personality was good enough for Obi to deputise him in 2019, what changed? |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by richmond500: 11:19am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Switruth:SE will never vote Tinubu. That is a wish taken too far |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Beautifulday: 11:20am On Jul 24, 2025 |
AMINDA:Who was PDP presidential candidate in 1999 and who was his rival? |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Switruth: 11:21am On Jul 24, 2025 |
richmond500:I said if obi no come out as any party's flag bearer. SE prefer the power to remain in the south. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by richmond500: 11:23am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Switruth:SE votes based on who pushes the SE agenda more. SE will never vote Yoruba man, they will rather vote Atiku instead of Tinubu |

Beautifulday:I'll indulge you. Obasanjo/Atiku under PDP. Olu Falae/Umaru Shinkafi under AD/APP (joint party ticket). Southeast voted for PDP. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by nedu666: 11:27am On Jul 24, 2025 |
DomPerignon:Which one is umuahi faction. Are you sure you are ok |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Beautifulday: 11:30am On Jul 24, 2025 |
AMINDA:Nobody knew Olu Falae in the East. I have been in Lagos for more than 20 years. I don't even know the name talk more of someone who live in Abia State. Now imagine me knowing Umaru Shinkafi. What do you know about Olu False and Umaru Shinkafi |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Svoboda(m): 11:31am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Beautifulday:In 2003, Ojukwu lost to Obj in the southeast. Ethnic consideration for votes in the southeast started in 2023 because of Obi. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by EvilMerodack(m): 11:31am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Beautifulday:His Major rival was another Yoruba man in AD, so you went with a party that had Alex Ekwueme as one of the founding father(He was actually the Party Chairman that year) Its still hidden under big-o-try |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Beautifulday: 11:32am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Svoboda:East don't vote along ethnic lines. Obi is the best among all politicians at the moment. That is why the East is behind him not because he is from the East |

DomPerignon:Post the link to authenticate the news. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by AMINDA: 11:35am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Beautifulday:What has that got to do with anything? Are you asserting that Obasanjo was considered to be more competent by the Southeast because he was the more popular candidate? Falae secured 11m votes while Obasanjo got 18m votes. 11m Nigerians knew them. It just wasn't enough. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Beautifulday: 11:36am On Jul 24, 2025 |
EvilMerodack:Who knew Alex Ekwueme? He became prominent after Obasanjo won. All these people you see making noise from east as politicians began to gain platform when media started hyping them. Who was the presidential candidate of AD in 1999? |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by EvilMerodack(m): 11:37am On Jul 24, 2025 |
Beautifulday:Thats because you never had an SE person as the candidate of any major party. APGA doesnt even have a regional appeal, not to talk of a National one The only time you had an SE candidate on a major platform, you voted him straightaway, despite having Atiku whom you voted for in 2019 on the ballot |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Beautifulday: 11:38am On Jul 24, 2025 |
AMINDA:That is the point. South East turn out was poor because, they didn't know them. Obasanjo had upper hand because of his military background. That is why, I tell you that South East vote people not party. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Amumaigwe: 11:42am On Jul 24, 2025 |
DomPerignon:You people will never speculate that Obi will secure the ADC ticket because you all know the implications. You are silently wishing that a paperweight secures the ticket so that Tinubu will stand a chance of defeating them. All these interests the ruling party is taking in who emerges as candidates of the differenr parties wouldn't have been necessary if they had focused on improving the quality of lives of the citizens who voted them, who they will still require to vote them again. Now it seems that Tinubu's chances of winning a second term depends only on the choice of candidates of other parties. How can one explain that a sitting president has nothing to campaign with except wishing that other parties bring candidates that will be worse than him as to make him remain the best amongst the worsts. |
| Re: Datti Has Finally Ditched Obi by Beautifulday: 11:43am On Jul 24, 2025 |
EvilMerodack:If South East vote on ethnic lines, what does it matter weather the party the most prominent south east candidate is contesting on is APGA or EBA? |
