Until we understand that money holds no value in itself... Everyone want to control the media, and to the Europe, printing few francs to achieve this isn't a problem.

They buy strategic business not just for business expansion but for strategic positioning... I thought though!

The other day in Nigeria, it was MainOne cables.
You seem to be the only one here seeing through this imperialist manoeuvering

I believe this will give room to Nigerians to home grown pay satellite Tv that multichoice has been pressing down not to see the light of the day.

Power move!!! DSTv as a Multichoice brand is sinking. It's in their best interest to let go.

All I need is a separate sports package like their Canal+ Sports please!!!

Between Netflix and Amazon Prime, movie needs are adequately covered.
Subscribers should be allowed to make their choice of programs like I would want

Channels TV
NTA
TVC
Arise TV
Ajazera
CNN
Sports
Africa Magic
ROK

I would prefer to be charged for the programs of my choice.

Multichoice has finally dumped their failing business on an unsuspecting French company. Multichoice staffers will be smiling all the way to the bank now.

I hope the French media company did their due diligence before acquiring Multichoice and that they have a solid strategy for rescuing the company
Same way Coca-cola acquired Chivita. Who told you Multichoice staffer would be smiling to the bank. Expect downsizing because every business is out to make profit.

Nigeria is one of the biggest market for Multi choice. The increase in tarriff is due the epileptic power supply and the economy of the country.

Canal plus will face similar challenges and how they react will be interesting. But I know for sure that Canal plus is not a Philanthropist.
They would react by downsizing o pari niyen o

😂😂😅😂😂

I don't complain about bad government, I simply restrategize and turn the situation to my advantage because experience has taught me that it will be difficult to have a perfect system of government in Nigeria except we switch to a regional system of government or we go our separate ways.

Watch how the business will be rebounded. It takes business sense to revive a failing business like this one
Not in corrupt Africa. It won’t work.

Multichoice were too selfish. If the new handlers introduce pay as you go model, they'll bounce back and record more profit than Multichoice. Business is about collecting little from a large number than much from a few. Multichoice were collecting much from a few. If Canal+ follow their footsteps, they'll fail woefully because right now, DSTV is down.

Let them begin sell of airtime and open all channels. No need to segment into standard and premium packages. They could charge more when one for some channels, charge less for some, and keep others free. That way, there's something for everyone. Above all, they should maintain high quality.

You people that watch DSTV content will now begin to experience in a subtle way mind controlling contents that will never ignite your consciousness but will subject you into slave-like zombies that don’t think for themselves.

The last time I checked I thought we Africans are trying to root out all forms of neocolonialism and now the French of all investors are bold to acquire the biggest and largest media brand in Africa.

Does it mean there are no rich investors in Africa or is the investors(owners of DSTV) in Africa are so greedy that they couldn’t allow DSTV to be sold to fellow African investors

Nigerians are yet to realise that APC-inflicted poverty is the reason they can no longer afford dstv subscription. We will blame everybody (mtn, oil marketers, banks etc.) except the main culprit. Shey na until the evil party kpai everybody before we go get sense?

That multichoice is failing in Nigeria due to the low purchasing power of Nigerians, does not mean it's failing elsewhere. The company got full control of DStv together with everything else owned by multichoice.

Please be objective when making comments especially when you're on a post's page one.

This was my first thought . The French are not known for being nice to Africans. I hope they do business with profit in mind and not political propaganda

Yes they have a strategy. That strategy is to push anti-sahel propaganda to millions of subscriber across Africa. France has been in deep economic trouble since they got kicked out of the Sahel, they are actively sponsoring terrorism in the Sahel region and also feel the need to control narratives through media in Africa. This is media warfare and Africans need to wake the F up!
