Paul Ibe, the Special Adviser on Media to the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has reacted after one of the top members of the Obidient Movement, Morris Monye said Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi got 6 million votes in the last presidential election.

Paul Ibe's statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

In the post that Morris Monye shared on his page, he said despite having the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar polled the same votes with Peter Obi who didn't have structure.

Here is what Morris Monye wrote on his official X handle;

"INEC announced 6 million votes for Atiku, 6 million votes for Peter Obi. Atiku had the entire PDP machinery and structure. Peter Obi had little or no party agents nor structure".

However, Paul Ibe has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he tackled Morris Monye for reducing the number of votes that Atiku Abubakar polled in the last election.

Paul Ibe took to his X handle and replied:

"Dear Morris, facts don't lie. You can round up 6.1m to 6m but it is disingenuous to round up 6.9m to 6m".

This coalition fight won't end anytime soon. Let me sit back and chill with a bottle of beer 🍾. Bar man, let it go round, we love this entertainment.

They're fighting on who to go home with silver or bronze medal Atiku and Obi should come again in 2027 and see how Jagaban will still dribble them to take the Gold medal.

But I thought they were crying that they won but look them arguing who came second 😂😂. Even the Obidient guy confessed they didn't have enough polling agents yet these Obidients have been deceiving and lying to themselves that they won.

Did he win 25% in atleast 27 states?. The constitution only recognizes a President that is popular across the country, not a regional and local champion. Obi is unpopular across the country.

Imagine comparing an ordinary citizen (an obedient) to Atiku a former Vice President of Nigeria….Agbados have now indirectly elevated Obidients to the highest level never seen before in Nigerian politics because the Failures have nothing to show Nigerians except an uncompleted road after wasting trillions of naira that should have been spent on small scale businesses to create employment for people but when you remember they said their government is awalokan, so the endless failures is more or less a tribal cultural thing of their people

Fact remains Obi is a bigger figure than Atiku.

Obi got 6 million votes plus with a lower minority party while Atiku got same 6 million votes plus with a major party.

It pretty easy to see through this game being played here. Obidient camp are pushing a narrative since the coalition was formed, trying to push Peter Obi down the throat of the coalition through threats, bullying and a populist type of narrative while Atiku's camp are pushing back. Meanwhile, Ameachi's camp is quietly strategizing. He has told everyone who cares to listen, that the agreement was to work with anyone who emerge in the primaries. Peter Obi knows about this agreement too but not bold enough to tell his supporters.

Presidential election is not won by states but by winning majority of valid votes and getting at least 25% in 2/3 of the 36 states and FCT.

OBI who was virtually an independent candidate with zero structure and zero agents was able to pull 6.1 million. Atiku despite being in a major party which had up to 10 PDP governors, numerous senators and house Rep members backing him only pulled 6.9 million votes.

Anyone with even basic understanding of how Nigerian elections work, knows that OBI out performed Atiku in that election.

The coalition seems to have fizzled out like gas from fizzy drinks.

After the announcement of David Mark and Aregbesola as interim chairman and secretary, respectively, the party went to bed.

There is not much activity, except Aregbesola's home-coming and Rotimi Amaechi's mini home-coming. The ADC secretary is issuing infantile statements, and has lost steam as he seems limited to challenge Tinubu's policies.

So far, I am not sure defections have been announced to ADC on the floor of the national assembly. Even Ireti Kingibe who announced her decamping from LP to ADC has not notified the senate.

The CPC bloc has fizzled out as the likes of Malami and Onochie have realized the limits of their influence to get other CPC stalwarts to join them.

Even Atiku has refused to register in ADC. Where is he?

There are no offices set up in states.

ADC seems like a still-birthed and therefore premature political experiment. There is a glaring lack of leadership and coordination.

The same way Atiku refused to provide leadership in PDP is how he is failing to do same in ADC.
