The management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, has released dressing codes for all its students and punishment for violators.

The release listed various degrees of unwelcoming dressings noticed among the students especially the Gen Z with varying degrees of punishment including but not limited to expulsion

In view of the contemporary trend of event in the university, any student found guilty of violation of the following Dress Codes in the University risks rustication for one ( I ) semester:

MISCONDUCT SANCTION

Sexually Provocative Dresses Rustication for one (1 ) semester

Backless Clothes Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Transparent Wears Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Off- shoulder Clothes Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Bomb Shorts Rustication for one (I) semester

Tattered Jeans Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Dread Locks Rustication for one (1) semester

Faring for Male/Cowries for Female Rustication for one (I) semester

Micro/mini/Skimp Dress Rustication for one ( I) semester

Sagging for Male/Female Rustication for one (1) semester

Hair Braiding for Male Rustication for one (1) semester

Nose, Mouth. Eye., Extra Rings Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Unconventional wearing of face cap Rustication for one ( 1) semester

Tattoo. Indelible markings for male Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Crop/Jump Tops Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Multi-coloured braid for Female Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Haircuts with inscriptions Rustication for one ( I ) semester

T-shirts with obscene inscriptions depicting immorality. hooliganism, etc. Rustication for one ( I ) semester

Heavy Make-ups Rustication for one (I ) semester

Rumpled and dirty clothes Rustication for one (I) semester

Hair plaiting or weaving by male students Rustication for one ( I ) semester

In addition to the above, any student found guilty of violation of the following Dress Codes in the university risks rustication for two (2) semesters:

Spangled Hair Style for Male Rustication for two (2) semesters
Unwelcome touching, kissing and hugging of opposite sex

Rustication for two (2) semesters

.. Sure that's what's gonna happen. But kids plenty for the school now. Na koboko they go use wipe their ass.

Will they put surveillance around motion ground, Anglo/Moz b/stop, sport area, agricultural faculty and Ajose lecture theatre areas... those areas use to be our hunting arena.

University of Ife doings.

This is nice. Considering all dress code mentioned are for informal environment.

Institution of higher learning is a formal environment.

Its just like saying Babariga and Agbada is not allowed in Night Clubs and you say its wrong or absurd.

I see rumpled and dirty clothes there.

So they will rusticate students for one semester for not ironing their clothes. E be like some people will never graduate

Some universities will start to introduce uniform very soon

We are slowly returning to normalcy. The young people of this generation will be noted in history for various misdeeds. Congratulations to the OAU executives for their efforts. Other institutions should take note and follow suit even Churches to should control their members.

COMRADES are speechless at these...well I am in alignment with the school, honestly, because at school, especially the tertiary institutions(since there's no discipline) the way some students dress or behave baffles me, I do ask myself whether those children are 'parentles'

U don't know Awo boys. During our time, the school management can't even try to implement this policy. We will shut down the senate and shut down the school main gate immediately. They are lucky that OAU students have calm down.

Imagine being rusticated for wearing a decent but rumpled cloth

Well, over to OAU students.

I think the whole idea is to ensure moderation and to keep some 'alaseju' in check.

I hope they are ready to face the legal consequences of their decision when it happens

What about sanctions for sexual harressment by lecturers. Punishment should also be melted on them

I visited the OAU recently and was so disappointed with the spate of infrastructural decay in place. I've been wondering why the school's name had suddenly vanished from the ratings list, not knowing its no more what it used to be. So sad. Our leaders won't go unpunished by God for destroying our education system that made them who they are today.

Go to Harvard, caltech, Yale and Princeton and see what they are doing, that's the problem we focus on irrelevant things.
You can't even hold a debate with most of your professors. They will use i m older to put you down.
