The annoying thing is that they won’t create jobs, they won’t create a stress free environment, only to pounce on collecting tax

The FIRS should reconsider their stands now. In 2022, price of fuel and motor parts are very cheap compare to 2025.

People doing e-hailing business are seriously struggling now, many of them cannot even service their vehicles and millions of Nigeria cannot even afford to book a ride now.

This law will even further kill the business.
They are at it again. E-hailing business is about to go down.
EMILOKAN.

This is absolutely not the time to start taxing therefore increasing the price of essentials. Like transportation and food. This is very tone deaf of FIRS. Tax the company’s as usual but leave the service delivery out of it. FIRS should go and find another revenue generating outlet.

They should also find a way to collect vat on the oxygen we breathe in

Is this not what people like you always wanted?

You have achieved it, so why are you now complaining?

I'm not against it. Every business should pay tax. Those riders charge for every trip. So, taxing them is not bad.

What I am against is when the tax rate is too high and when the tax is embezzled or misappropriated.
you’re the consumer lol
The bulk of the tax burden would be dumped on your head

Price don increase be that...na wa ooh
These tax make things expensive and companies will dump the load on the consumer head.

Take example, plane ticket, a normal plane in Nigeria ticket is around 20 to 30k but then the tax added to the real price is what makes air ticket expensive
You can't live in Europe or America then.

Govt already collect a service fee on each ride and also licensing fees , adding VAT will only make the already struggling service lose more customers and as well as drivers losing their source of income.

Ride hailing apps have long argued they are not eligible for VAT because all they do is join independent drivers with ride hailers...Bolt challenged the UK govt on this and won so today no VAT is charged on hailed rides

UK has cancelled VAT for ride hailing ...if we want to compare ourselves to Europe we should also compare economy, infrastructure and minimum wage

Go back and read what the UK government actually did. If you want the kind of economy, infrastructure and minimum wage in Europe and America be ready to pay your tax without complaining.

If we want the kind of economy in Europe the we need better leaders and not the kleptomaniacs people like you support ...

All the VAT they collect what have they done with it? There is no Nigerian that doesn't pay VAT every single day , what have your kleptocratic friends done with it ?

They do so much with it so much that it is still the same people who always complain that are in to vandalizing infrastructures just for example.

You are typical working class

So you think it was tax that created the infrastructures and minimum wage in Europe?

Why do you think most rich Europeans all have off shore accounts?

Tinubu has no creative way of generating funds apart from Taxing Nigerians to death.

He has to leave in 2027. Nigerians are tired of his antics.

Afterall, the Tax is still looted by people like Akpabio and Wike who believe that they never be jailed by any Judge in Nigeria, as they have bribed them and made them sitting ducks.

They should tax everything oh. Collect tax from hookup girls, native doctors, Ezewanyis, prophets, yahoo boys, everyone that makes a kobo. Everything that has breath including plants and animals should be taxed. It can only get worse. Thanks to Tinubulation.
