Who's even France in the scheme of things to recognize terrorists' zone as a state? If US hasn't said that, then it doesn't exist.

"Such a move rewards terror and risks creating another Iranian proxy.”

French President Emmanuel Macron is facing sharp pushback from Israel over his plan to formally recognize the "State of Palestine" later this year.

There recognition is subject to US opinion. If US threatens them they'll back off.

There are 5 permanent members of the United Nations: US, CHINA, RUSSIA, UK, AND FRANCE.
These are the global powers.
This has not answered my question?

I believe Palestine would later have to be recognized as a country alongside Israel. Hamas should just stop the shenanigans and let the people in Gaza have a legitimate government. Hamas is just a militant group and not a legit government. They need to stop doing Iran's bidding if they really want peace.

125 UK Lawmakers Write Prime Minister Starmer, Call For Recognition Of Palestinian State

July 25, 2025
NEWS

Over a hundred members of Parliament are demanding that the United Kingdom's Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, recognise Palestinian statehood.

According to Sky News, 125 MPs have signed a mass cross-party letter urging him to take the step.

The letter is reportedly being organised by Labour backbencher Sarah Champion, who also serves as Chair of the International Development Committee.

They write: "British recognition of Palestine would be particularly powerful given its role as the author of the Balfour Declaration and the former Mandatory Power in Palestine.

"Since 1980 we have backed a two-state solution. Such a recognition would give that position substance as well as living up to a historic responsibility we have to the people under that Mandate."

SaharaReporters reported that France announced on Thursday its decision to recognise the statehood of Palestine. Emmanuel Macron, in a post on his official X handle, noted that the country’s formal announcement will be made in September.

"Consistent with its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognise the State of Palestine," Macron stated.

He added that the formal announcement will be made at the United Nations General Assembly in September.

Macron stressed the urgent need to end the war in Gaza, provide humanitarian assistance, and secure the region, calling for the demilitarisation of Hamas and the rebuilding of Gaza.

"The urgent priority today is to end the war in Gaza and to bring relief to the civilian population," he wrote. "We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. We must also ensure the demilitarisation of Hamas, secure and rebuild Gaza."

He emphasised that the future Palestinian state must be committed to peace and coexistence, with full recognition of Israel.

"And finally, we must build the State of Palestine, guarantee its viability, and ensure that by accepting its demilitarisation and fully recognising Israel, it contributes to the security of all in the region," Macron added.

He underscored the desire for peace among the French population, stating, "The French people want peace in the Middle East. It is our responsibility — as French citizens, alongside Israelis, Palestinians, and our European and international partners — to prove that peace is possible."

Macron also revealed that he had communicated directly with the President of the Palestinian Authority to express his intentions.

France’s decision brings the number of countries recognizing the Palestinian state to at least 146. However, the United States, a long-time ally of Israel, has notably withheld such recognition.

The decision by France has been met with strong condemnation from both Israel and the United States, who are actively involved in the ongoing conflict with Palestine.

The US made its position known in a post by its ambassador to France, Charles Kushner. He described the move as a blow to peace.

"France’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state is a gift to Hamas and a blow to peace. I’ve just arrived, and I’m deeply disappointed. @EmmanuelMacron – I hope to change your mind before September. Free the hostages. Focus on a ceasefire. This is the path to lasting peace," he posted on his official X handle.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared Israel's position on his official X handle.

"We strongly condemn President Macron’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state next to Tel Aviv in the wake of the October 7 massacre. Such a move rewards terror and risks creating another Iranian proxy, just as Gaza became.

"A Palestinian state in these conditions would be a launch pad to annihilate Israel — not to live in peace beside it. Let’s be clear: the Palestinians do not seek a state alongside Israel; they seek a state instead of Israel."

The Palestine govt are against Hamas, he said it over and over again doing UN meetings. The peace deal between Hamas and Israel was supposed to be concluded but Israel backed out just yesterday night even doing the negotiations, Palestinians innocent souls are killed on a daily basis. Lands are being occupied even in Gaza by Israel. I will put it to you, is Israel actions of killing innocent children and women and men that are seeking for food, water and basic needs justified?

This has not answered my question?
But it has.
You asked what their position is among the global powers and I listed it right there.

If you count the top 5 superpowers globally based on economy, military, and Cultural influence, France is up there with the aforementioned countries.

So what part of your question did I not answer?

GIFTEDPLANNERS:
France sound so dumb on this. If you take someone out of his land and house and kill them under a jihad which is on record and they come back for it after 1000 years is that a crime. Check the records of history. We have such things happening here in Nigeria and if in 100 years time those displaced new generations comes back for their land will you call it a crime
When you tell people that your God promised you someone Land over 3000 years ago and the same God didn't informed the Original Owner of the Land. The so called Jews in Israel now are Land Grabbers from Eastern Europe and not the Bible Jewish people.

Because Hamas are wicked set of mongrels
Israel decades of occupation gave birth to Hamas, simple as ABC.
Whether Hamas fell into the trap or not, one way or another, Israel was going to annihilate Palestine because that was the goal

Unfortunately, there was no country called Palestine and there would be no country to be called Palestine. France knows this but at least Macron wants to say what terrorists like to hear.
