U might be a union member, I don’t need your Labour for anything of if I were in Nigeria. You have said it Labour fights for the right of worker. And that’s what we have been saying since . But we both know NLC/ TUC are too useless to perform their duty. As far as brown envelope is not involved they are not concerned.
I am not a union member, never will be. NLC/TUC is useless, I agree with you. However, what will you say of a government that allows Indians to enslave Nigerians in Nigeria in the name of employment?

I hope you also investigate the Nigerian agents who caused all these by making sure the Indians make all employments through them and original salaries paid are slashed making the workers end up with the peanuts. Ask Kimberly Clark that has shut down how much they originally wanted to pay factory floor workers and what Nigerian agents did
Chai! If IbeOkehie sees this, he would say something o shocked

Blame the sense less Nigerian leaders who fail to prioritise that are supposed to blaze the trail in protecting human dignity have since joined in enslavement of Nigerian workers!

It's too bad! Why can't the government emulate the western societies where workers are paid uniform wages across board? There should be uniform wages for workers be they private, government or missionary employment. I wonder why non of our senators has ever thought it necessary to sponsor bills to make wages uniform for Nigerian workers across all sectors.
Sorry, there cannot be uniform salaries across those sectors of employees. It does not work that way. People should be paid fairly and offered okay working conditions and perks. However, equal salaries isn't possible.

A major reason why salaries are low in Nigeria aside from the poor economy is the population. Highly populous countries have low salaries because there are gazillions of people who are willing to even accept lower salaries for the same role. Whether Vietnam, China, India or Indonesia, the story is the same. We need high economic growth so that enough jobs are created, thus offering more opportunities for people to choose from.

Some of the private and missionary establishments actually need to be checked. Things like minimum wage and hazard allowances should also be enforced across sectors such that someone working in the private sector can enjoy similar pay as his counterpart doing the same job in the public sector. The disparity in pay between workers of both sectors in Nigeria is too wide and that contribute to the unemployment problem we have in Nigeria. Many people sector workers in Nigeria see themselves as unemployed

That has to do with the corrupt and wicked nature of most Nigerians. If there are provisions for that and the money is not remitted to those who deserve it, then the blame is on those at the helm of affairs.

I hope you also know that minimum wage has a specific number of employees the company should have.

Nevertheless, a major factor for the low salaries is the population. Salaries are equally lower in Vietnam and India. Too many mouths. Yet people still dey born born born. undecided
