The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

This one no get sense o, imagine Nigeria’s cityhub and this is a great achievement. It’s commendable but if they were doing there job, this is a project for 2005-2010, its just like cheering for a corolla in 2025 when you have the budget for a jet.

It’s simply because the Yorubas are classy people who don’t discriminate among themselves. In yoruba land, nobody really cares where exactly u come from or the religion you practice. Most of the Yorubas living in Lagos today are originally from Oyo and Ogun states. We speak Yoruba and practice the Yoruba religion and this is the reason why a man who hails from Osun can be governor, commissioner, PS, local government chairman and etc in Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun or Oyo, provided he himself doesn’t think he’s different from the other yorubas living there. You might want to argue but do you know this practice isn’t peculiar to only Lagos? A Yoruba man from Kogi state had once governed Ondo state and while some of his opponents tried to use that to bring him down, the locals saw the attempt as a very cheap and senseless one because nobody really cared.
An Imo man can’t even dream of becoming a janitor in Anambra and some Yorubas still get angry that igbos aren’t welcoming toward them You’re angry that someone who doesn’t tolerate his own brother isn’t being friendly with you, no be juju be that ?😂😂😂

This is why we should make the local government to be active and effective and not to rely or wait or depend on the state governments to be doing projects in the LGA area, villages, communities ..and also local government allocation/ money should be sent directly to the local government... local government autonomy ..state governments should allow local government allocation/ money .to go directly to the local government so that this local government can be effective and active and do a lot of projects that will benefit the people in the rural areas, villages, communities and bring development in the rural areas villages communities and Nigeria

But obi didn’t build a single block of classroom for 8 years as a governor. If failure was a person.
