Kemi, our sister's utterances can be blamed for this. Labour needs to react to all her immigration talk by acting on these issues to win voters confidence that they are tackling the issue of immigration else Kemi will all her hot smoke may get voters to their side. Nigerian wey wan cut the ladder for others. Anyway e dey for blood |

Lioness5280:Maybe west Africa is worse. I have always said it that as long as we keep running to white man lands to do shitty jobs to survive while our home lands are wacky, no one will ever take us serious. Nigeria is a joke. Loud and noisy people with failed society that has solved not a single problem back home. Till date, Nigeria has not solved electricity problem at the hospitals. It is a big shame for such a lousy and noisy country. |

Well, I think most have learnt that the only way to really thrive in these foreign lands and anywhere as a matter of fact is by being there legally. You can see the recent crackdown on illegal activities world over with at least one Nigerian being involved. We must do better...Our image must be fixed else this ill-treatment won't stop. Greattha:It all starts with fixing the dominant environment; home . They say charity begins at home . No matter how well behaved you are if your home country is politically and economically weaker than others, you will just be tolerated. But it's worse for countries like Nigeria whose citizens are known globally for crime and atrocities....you immediately arouse suspicion and very few countries if any want you in their societies. |

Princedapace:Well, West Africa and Central Africa are the poster kids of African chaos. I don't know who brainwashed Nigerians with the * anywhere is better than home* mentality. It's weird. From a young age we were taught to sweep and clean our own house and backyard before going to help out the neighbors. It seems it's the other way round in Nigeria.....charity begins elsewhere ![]() |

DiamondsAreFore:The UK is supposed to act as a big brother to Nigeria but they always looking for ways to deport Nigerians and it's not good. France doesn't behave like this to French speaking countries in Africa. These category of workers should be protected and given other forms of Visa. |

I believe it's not going to affect only Nigeria Immigrants. Also, UK is having one of the highest inflation rates. As health workers recently went on strike but later were recalled after a mutual agreement. With this news, some firms will turn to remote or outsourcing of some job roles in order to cut down overhead cost. It's such a turbulent time for workers, especially immigrants, but it will surely settle like a dust. |

DiamondsAreFore:Why would they always focus on Nigerians workers in the UK? Are we the only foreign nationals working over there? If they want to stop the visa it shouldn’t be applicable to those who are already working they should stop allowing others to come on low skilled jobs instead of trying to deport the ones that are already working |

DiamondsAreFore:One of the things I've noticed about nairaland is the manner in which some individuals rush to open threads despite having limited information about a lot of things especially news regarding the UK and Nigerians because a lot of people have cultivated this unknown hatred for fellow Nigerians who already left Nigeria I.e living in the UK. Nobody is risking any deportation. Yes, it's true that lots of changes have been made but these changes provides loads of opportunities if you know your way in the UK and the smart ones are already finding their ways. Few days before the 22nd of July which is the day the new rules took effect, lots of NHS Trusts sent out certificates of sponsorship to their employees both old and new including those who might need it and are Bank staff. I know a lot of them. In fact, a close friend got an offer on the 21st of July with sponsorship. The only challenge is just the salary threshold thing which has been increased but like I said, if you know your ways it's just an opportunity for greater things but these people will come here and create topics just to show the gullible ones that those in the UK are going through this and that and they will all jump in to comment. Look at the kinds of comments that are being dropped here, it's mind blowing and baffling. Sometime last year, I came across a similar topic here and I took my time to explain to someone how as a student in the UK who worked 20hrs a week I was able to save a lot of money, he was shocked because there are lots of things people don't know about until you meet the right people and you find yourself in the right environment. Please, you people should do better. If you must create topics like these, also invest same amount of time you invested in writing things like these to write about the opportunities as well. Thank you. |

Inosky:The UK government will have a fresh and different type of crises in their hands because naija pple will always find a "funny" way around their problem... . If the UK govt thinks thousands of Nigerians will return home because they terminated their visa sponsorship route, then they don't know the sets of people they opened their borders to in the first place.... |

malali:UK opened its borders cos there was a boom in the economy. You guys always come up with silly conspiracy to make you feel you know what you are yapping when you are actually yapping tras*h. Covid happened and depleted the economy. Leaving Brexit and it's consequences followed. More money lost. Economy was dark. The came Ukraine. Billions were pumped into the war. America was smart enough to start taking the war as biz by trump. UK and EU hoped Russia will fall and they go for the spoil. All these for an economy that depended on taxation to thrive most of the time. Something has to be done and it will start from those that were allowed to come in en mass lately. That is how it's done every where. Indians, Pakistanians, Chinese, other african countries are also affected. They are not here contouring conspiracy theories like you guys. Still, same UK has loads of Nigerians in their thousands living and working. Have you thanked UK for changing their stories and that of their families when nigerian govt has failed them? Go to Asia and check out their stand on immigration. Ungrateful and entitled people. If nepotism had allowed you all to see, nigeria that is super blessed will be the one trying to contain the inflow of immigrants |

From what I see, only those earning poorly, doing meager jobs and unable to take care of their sponsors will be affected. Majority of Nigerian professionals earn more than the threshold. |

descarado:Why are you so pained and trying to get personal ? The immigrants they are complaining about were granted visas in Nigeria by their Embassy Why are they complaining now....why didn't they stop issuing the visas, when they became full. Do you know they are still issuing these visas till tomorrow.... They are enslaving people...they want immigrants, but they want immigrants that will work without visa status so that they can be exploited to do menial jobs, britons will not do. I have said it and i stand by it. Helping 5 people to enslave 50 other people is not helping. Its a Scam. JAPA is a SCAM. |
